The area may not be culturally designated, but it can succeed.

Maybe this is how the signage on East Anaheim Street should read: "Welcome to a Culturally Designated Area."
Cambodia Town is more what proponents had in mind, but that wasn't mentioned in a survey designed to test reactions of business operators and property owners. We're not sure what the survey respondents will think.
Long Beach Vice Mayor Bonnie Lowenthal, for one, told reporter Mira Jang she isn't going to bash the city for the way the survey was conducted, and she's eager to see the results.
According to some who received a copy, they tossed it, thinking it was junk mail. Others were confused, said Richard San, who is helping promote the proposal. We can see why.
The intention was good. Not mentioning the real goal avoided bias, for sure, but it also assured that results will be muddled. What if a shopkeeper loves the idea of a Culturally Designated Area but only if it's called, say, Diversity Town?
Also for sure, some people hate the idea of calling that section of Anaheim Street, between Atlantic and Junipero avenues, Cambodia Town. Or maybe any other Cultural Designation.
Half of the survey was devoted to the other half of the proposal, which was to create a business improvement district. This would enable the business community and property owners there to assess themselves and use revenues to make the area attractive to potential visitors.
Both halves are good ideas, but only if those most affected agree, and, more important, help make them happen. The survey, conclusive or not, can be used to help sharpen the focus and inspire the commitment to make the area, whatever it gets called, a great success.
Conclusively.

"Welcome to Slave's Town" is more
appropriate for that area of
California because most of Ah
Khmer-US are nothing more than
scum who lived in a roach infested
government housing while sucking
on the hardworking taxpayers'
money.
And I bet you are one of them too! Your language says it all.
What if I am, how does that help
them?
Wow,what a tone!
People need to remember that there are more than 447,032 Vietnamese live in California alone! Now just imagine how many Vietnamese on government housing or get help from American government???ahahahh
The worst part is that the Vietnamese even have their own town called Little Siagon!
I dare 2:18PM to back up his statistic about Cambodian people!!
Now it is your turn to show me the fucken proof!!!!
This designated area of Long Beach called Cambodia Town has more than 70% of Cambodian owned businesses. Now if these Cambodian people are on government aid or welfare and how can they do businesses in the first place? Come on now! Nobody can fool Uncle SAM because Uncle SAM won't allow anybody who are on a government aid such as housing or welfare to start a business!
2:18PM is just another Vietcong in disguise!!!ahahhahahh
Hey, you don't have to far for
proof. Ah Assholes (KI media)
got them right here. Ask them for
it, 6:46.
Wrong 6:54, "Slave's Town" in Long
Beach got 70% Slaves Slaving for
Yuon's bussiness.
To 4:01AM bastard!
I don't need to ask anybody and you don't have to redirect me to where I don't need to go!!!You think you are hardcore about this issue then show me the fucken proof!!!Stop making a fool out of yourself motherfucker! You are just bullshitting yourself and have nothing to back it up!!!
To 4:04AM
How many YOUN's bussiness are in Long Beach???Yeh...I see a few Pho noodle shops!!! Tell me what else do you see??ahahhahhah I thought so!
Here is my analysis of Pho Noodle!
The break down of Pho Noodle!
-Large bowl to fool people that they get alot for their money!
-Large amount of watery soup with high content of sugar, Monosodium glutamate, and fat from bone marrow which can lead to weight gain or diabetes if eat everyday!
-Small amount of noodle with a very large thin slices of meat to cover the noodle disguise with some meat balls!
-A large side plate serving bean sprout, herb, and two slices of lemon.
After a few bite of noodle and meat balls and the rest just drink the watery soup to make you feel full and sweaty!!!!Don't forget by this time you will be slurping your own runny nose!ahahahhahh Then you have another glass of water or coke or whatever to wash it down!!!!ahahahhahha
If the City Long Beach really did their survey correctly, more than 70% of Cambodian businesses would vote for it! I wonder how many Cambodian business got the survey?
Ummm... Yummy, listening to you
break down the Pho Noodle... .
Stop it, I am drooling.
It certainly is better than your
roach flavored kateav, curry,
solor machou xx, ... . I felt
sick just thinking about it.
