The police reported that, yesterday, a group of youngsters burst into the Russei Keo high school, located in Khan Russei Keo, Phnom Penh city, to rob jewelries and other valuables from the students in their classroom.

The number of robbers and the value of the items robbed were not available. “According to witnesses, these boys (robbers) had a hand grenade which they used to threaten the students in a classroom to rob them of their mobile phones. When they heard the siren of the police car, they took off. The police were not able to arrest them,” Chan Samnang, the sangkat chief said. Chey So Seila, the Russei Keo police inspector, indicated that he asked the court to issue arrest warrants for the alleged robbers.

KI-Media Note: The Koh Santepheap newspaper indicated that the robbers fled into a nearby military barrack before disappearing. The Sralanh Khmer newspaper reported that police said that one of the robbers is the son of a CPP honor guard general, and that the general is the commander of the army barrack where the robbers fled into.

stop inviting unnecessary roberry.
