LOWELL -- A former member of the Cambodian Parliament and Senate paid a visit to the Khemara Restaurant on Westford Street yesterday to promote a new political party that he hopes will help make his homeland more democratic.

Sokha Kem, a human-rights activist who served as a politician in Cambodia for 10 years, addressed an audience of roughly 40 people in the back hall of the restaurant.

He was there to drum up support for the Human Rights Party, a recently founded political body that opposes the current governmental systems controlling Cambodia.

Timothy Chhim, the coordinator for the North American team supporting the party, said Kem is on a 17-city tour, speaking to Cambodian communities in cities from Canada to California in hopes of getting them to return to Cambodia to vote in the July 2008 election.

"We want people to create their own party and to have their voices in the party. We want to reach to all Cambodians of the world and we want to bring them back to rebuild," Chhim said.

Kem came to Lowell through the efforts of Chhim and former City Councilor Rithy Uong, who attended with Mayor Bill Martin and translated much of Kem's speech for Martin.

Khem Sokha's dream to find support from Cambodian people in abroad is not successful because those Cambodian oversee people have already supported and funded SRP.

The last effort of Khem Sokha should address the possibility of Cambodian Oversees People able to vote like all French citizens can vote Zakhozii of French leader...

If Khem Sokha raises the issue of joining together of all democratic teams, they will be more supports and appreciates from Cambodian oversee people.

Kem Sokha and Sam Rainsy are identical twin brothers. Nobody can distinguish who is who. They were born from the same parents. Their father is HYPOCRISY and their mother is AMBITION. They have 4 brothers and sisters:

1- Arrogance
2- Stubbornness
3- Irresponsibility
4- Greed

Even though they are blood-related, there is no way whatsoever where these 2 brothers can work together as some people eagerly wish them to. It's something like "THERE CAN'T BE TWO TIGERS IN THE SAME FOREST".
