Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will visit Burma next week, prompting a swift call from the opposition political party that he press its military regime to free opposition democratic icon Aung San Suu Kyi.

Prime Ministser Hun Sen refused to say what was on his agenda in a three-day visit to the former Burma due to start on May 21.

"I think it's unnecessary to tell media ahead of my negotiations with Burmese leaders," he told reporters.

"You should wait to hear about the result of the visit."

Opposition leader Sam Rainsy said Hun Sen should urge the Burmese junta to free Suu Kyi, who has spent more than 11 of the past 17 years under some form of detention, the latest period of which is due to end on May 27.

"I think what Cambodia should do is to tell Burma to free Aung San Suu Kyi and to make democratic reform," Sam Rainsy said.

"At least such a meeting could be useful if there is an increase of pressure on military ruled-Burma."

The military, which has ruled Burma since 1962, has ignored international calls for her release and on May 27 last year extended her detention for another 12 months.

Somdach (Hun Sen), forget the the
troublemaker (Aung San Suu Kyi)
she's not being torture or
anything. You will destroyed Birma
if you free her. She's just like
the Sam Rainsy of Birma if you
know what I mean. She will make
people suffered to rise to power.
The Birmese don't need that at
the moment.

What we need is increase trading.
Improve cooperation in busting
drug dealers and terrorists.
We must work hard to be one step
ahead of those criminals.

An advice to comment writers:

Even though I enjoy reading your colourful comments, I thought that you could do better should you just pay attention to your spelling.
It is not hard to grab the dictionnary and check the words before typing them away...
No hard feelings...
We don't want the white men looking down on us, that is all....

Thanks mate, I know what you mean.
Sometime, when I read what I post,
I also found both serious spelling
and grammar errors also, but can't
edit the blog. The problem is I am
a bad proof reader, and to make
think worst, I am rushing to
release as many posts as I can.
I used to have an Net spell
checker. Let me see if I can find
one and reinsintall it. Also,
hesitate not to ask any question if
the sentence, paragraph or idea
doesn't make sense. That is why we
here.

Here is another commie trying to hold on to power like Fidel Castro--"RULE TILL DEATH AND RULE BY FAMILY TREE". These dictators rule until their nation go BANKRUPT!!!

Burma's dictator, Cambodia's dictator Hun Sen, Cuba's Fidel Castro, or the communists of Vietnam or China, they were born to rule until their death. They think they are super human beings, never make mistakes and always think they are right always??!!!No opposition voice in their regime is allowed. No freedom is allowed. They see information as a threat to their rule, while the free world see information as human capital to advancements.

These dictators don't rule by law and by the people's voice, but by intimidation, guns, and corruption. They buy votes if they are forced run an election and use violence to intimidate opposition from voting.

These dictators only live in rogue states such as Burma, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, North Korea, Zimbabwe, etc. and where their people are less educated. They rule by the present of weak (intellectually). They are in politics to oppress and not to build a nation---historical records have shown the case. To this day, not a single nation from these regimes are in the top-notch socially, economically, and technologically.

We, Cambodians, are very ashamed to have an uneducated prime minister as ah Hun Sen

Reporters have rights to ask any question to high-rank officials, either prime minister, in the world.

If ah Hun Sen (Kbal youn khloun Sat') told RFA reporters are insolent, so ah Hun Sen is very ILL-BRED and uneducated barbarian person
