I read it in English. It is the real history. The historical book must be written by historians. Pol Pot is not as stupid as most of peoples have thought. He is nationalist but extremely bad leadership, he didn't know what is the real situation of Cambodian rice fields (3 tons per hector all over Cambodia is impossible, 20 millions peoples in 1985 is also a dream). He don't know either what his cadres do at the local level.
A charismatic man but bad leading policies.

Finally, Cambodians are very couragous to try all kinds of regimes. Feodalism with oppression and corruption, Republic with demonstration every days, Communism with killing fields. We, Cambodians tried all. We have experiences in the matters. Please learn from our past.

It is not distorted by any political ideas.

THe prosperity and harmony of each country is fully depended to the leaders of each generation of that country. Cambodia was brought to hell on earth by a few of their leaders who were breeded by half animal sperms which have created a cruel animal like leaders. These evils cannot understand the feeling of human being. They wasted all their national resourses and their fellow citizen lives and brought their country into a hell on earth. We need people who really have good family background who can appreciate the quality of life to be leader. Without this kind of leader, Cambodia is still heading to nowhere and their fellow citizen will still facing with uncertain sufferings. Areak Prey

I feel frustrated that some Khmer and Foreigners, including some American Intellectuals, claimed that the American bimbing in Cambodia from 1989 to 1973 hepled the KR to increase their Army that led to the genocide.

It's true that the war and the bombing were the source of human myseries. But Let make comaparison beetween the war in Cambodia and the war in Vietnam, in term of duration and intensity and outcome.

The Viets had fought for about 3 decades and the KR had fought only for about 5 years.
The bombings in Vitenam were far more intensive and savage than in Cambodia where only some provinces were affected.

What the Vietming and the Vietcong do to the Vetnamese people when they Won the war in 1975?
Genocide? No!
And what the KR did for Cambodian people when they von the war?Genocide!

It meant that the Khmer leaders, unlike Vietnamese leaders, were stupid and had no vision about the future of Cambodia.

3:26, good to hear your comment.
I hope you love history. With
more practice, I think you could be
one of the greatest historians of
all time.

We desperately can used a bunch of
true and unbiased historians. So
far, a lot of our history appeared
like a swiss cheese to me. I mean
it has a lot of holes and too much
whitewashings in it, hehehe, which
could be a problem to make
Cambodia a successful country.

Anyway, keep up the good work, my
friend!
