Cambodian PM to seek more investment from Japan

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Monday he will seek more investment and aid during an official visit next month to Japan, the impoverished kingdom’s largest donor.
“There will be a lot of discussions involving development issues, aid, investment and tourism for Cambodia,” Hun Sen said during the opening of a Japanese-funded hospital in northwest Cambodia.
Hun Sen, whose international profile rose this year with a state visit to France, said he will travel to Japan on June 14. He said he would also ask Tokyo for more help in improving Cambodia’s infrastructure, which is in tatters after decades of civil war and neglect. Japan pledged more than $100 million at last year’s donor meeting, which netted Cambodia some $600 million in aid.

Yay!!! go, go, go, Somdach, we know
you can do it. However, I would
like to propose that Cambodia to
open a couple hundreds of Permanent
Residencies for any Japanese
investors who would want to make
Cambodia their home.
Secondly, we must try to ask the
japanese administration to help
us with some heavy duty escavators
and equipments to help us developed
our rural area faster. With any
luck we can beat the drout
forecasted by the royal cows. Do
you know what I mean?
Anyhow, have a nice trip, and may
God help you to accomplished your
goals for our people!
There is a myth that Hun Sen's traveling to Burma as well as to Japan will create jobs for Cambodian youth....
Of course, in reality it is his mission to show his real nature of leadership while visiting Burma, and to beg and borrow more money from Japan to sustain his power for next three decades....who know?
Who hope that Hun Sen's trip will create more job will face with tears and starvation...
If you look at creating jobs through Sokumix, all those employees/workers are Vietnamese nationals...I can bet with you all!
We hope, beside of garment factories, jobs created by government should give some vacancy for Khmer youths, not all for Vietnamese...
It is no myth. The recent trip to
Burma and the success in signing a
"direct flight" agreement has
all ready created jobs for all
level personel, from VP of
cambodia operation, to manager, to
staffs and clerks for the Burma
air line. You just have to know
where to go to apply for it. I bet
I can score the VP of Cambodia
operation quite easily. If not,
I will at least make a manager
position, and work my way up to
VP within 3-6 years time.
how many tourists will come from Burma to visit Cambodia?
How many Khmers will go to Burma?
It is just strenghtening the nature of communism with Burma....shitt
Good question, 6:55! there won't
be much Burmeses to visit Cambodia
for a while, but there will be
plenty foreigners from Cambodia
to visits Burma. Hence, the
bussinesses is there, and it will
be bigger in Cambodia than it is in
Burma. Either way, it will put
people on both sides to work.
9:25, I know I'll be one of the
first customer to visit Burma
when thing get rolling, hehehe!!!
Remember, "love" is knowledge, and
"love" will always be stronger
