We agree with Prime Minister Hun Sen that if he resigned, land prices would go down.
Cambodia's exchange rate would also drastically change. But then it could spring up after the new prime minister or government completed its cabinet arrangement.
We profoundly thank Hun Sen for his leadership and his efforts for more than 20 years to bring Cambodia from war to peace. But we would also thank him a lot if he resigned and allowed a new person the opportunity to lead, in a peaceful and dignified way.
This act could be one of the prime minister's big contributions to the nation. For example, Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad resigned peacefully from office and allowed Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi to lead Malaysia. Mahathir's people still strongly support him. This is a good example in the region.
A prosperous, developed and strong country never has only one strong and smart leader. It should have more and more different leaders to keep steady growth.

Mahathir was in his seventies when he resigned whereas Hun Sen is only in his fifties. By this comparison, Hun Sen still has another twenty good years up to his sleeves...

Best time for Mr. PM to resign is now. Later will be too late. Too many unpleasant things going on. He and his cabinet members begin to look more and more like a sitting duck waitting to be hit by a bullet everyday. Cambodia needs new - fresh Leader. Someone completely different from him.
