Gifts distribution for jailed children

On 1 June, for the celebration of the International Children’s Day (ICD), the human rights group Licadho distributed gifts to 312 jailed children aged between 14 and 18-year-old, and to 48 pregnant women who are jailed in Prey Sar prison. 15 Licadho officials distributed gifts consisting of bread, milk, soy drink, dried fish, instant noodle, and toys, as well as some accessories for pregnant women, to these children and pregnant women. Dr Pung Chiv Kek, Licadho President, who participated in the gift distribution, expressed her regret that these children who should be attending schools, but remained in jail instead. She encouraged the children to improve their behavior so that they will become good citizens upon their release from prison.
