High School Girl Victim of Acid Attack

Seng Ratana, VOA Khmer
Original report from Phnom Penh
12/06/2007

An 11th-grade girl had acid thrown on her by two unknown assailants as she left school Thursday in what rights groups are calling the first attack of one so young.

Acid attacks in Cambodia are usually punitive measures on perceived mistresses and can be horribly disfiguring.

Rights groups immediately demanded police find the culprits.

The school's principal said Kiri Chariya, who is recovering in a hospital in Vietnam, had no apparent conflicts with classmates.

I favor death penalty for any acid attack! This is the cheapest and vicious way for any human to do to another human!

AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government must pass the damn law to regulate the use and storage of acid in any form! One day the acid bomb will become a reality if they don't pass the fucken law to regulate the use of acid!!!

Hydrochloric acid,Sulphuric acid, Nitric acid, Phosphoric acid,...

Big Pity for the young girl. All these kind of violences must be stopped if the perpetrors are arrested and punished by the laws.
The Cases like Piset Pilika, Tat Marina,Touch Srey Nich Picheta...should be finished.

The punishment should be throwing the acid back at the accused person.
