Original report from Phnom Penh
24 July 2007
Cambodian officials are preparing for eventual discussions with their Thai counterparts to ensure mutual benefits for both countries from the marine resources they share—especially offshore oil reserves.
Cambodia signed a memorandum with Thailand in 2001 to find a solution to disputes in overlapping areas in the Gulf of Thailand, Deputy Prime Minister Sok An said at a workshop in Phnom Penh Tuesday. Now was the time to implement those agreements, he said.
"Sooner or later when the Kingdom of Thailand will have an elected government," he said. "We will continue talks, because we think both Thailand and we will benefit from oil and gas for use, because the value is billions of dollars. The oil and gas will not be left lying under the sea for nothing."
Opposition lawmaker Son Chhay said decisions over oil, gas and other resources should not be made covertly.
Heav Veasna, executive director of the Coalition for Transparency, said oil on Cambodia's soil should be for Cambodia, and that the disputed areas should be divided in two.
"Then we will be able to analyze data involving the revenue from the oil," he said.

What seem to be in the hurry? Many of AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave officials don't even know what map to use anyway! I mean AH HUN SEN officials came up with some of the most ridiculous idea of such thing as the white zone! By the way Cambodia has a clear define map of 1953! 1953 is the year Cambodia got her indepedent from France! Cambodia needs modern technologies to verify every square inch of Cambodian boundary! NO more negotiation with the Thaicong!
Yeah, What the fuck overlapping area? The have protruded to our sea water. We should pull out the map of 1953. The US can support the map to prove them our land and sea border. The sea border today has been moved into our water from both sides (VIetnam&Thailand). So there is no overlapping area. Please think twice HUN SEN and wake up!!!!!!
A map link of interest, maybe?

Cambodian people are blind. They keep blaming their neighbours for everything that goes wrong in the country and they make a lot of noise about a few square miles on the border.
While Cambodians are barking to their neighbours, the Chinese are plundering the wood and very soon all the oil...
Remember the name CNOOC (China National oil Offshore Company).
While Khmers are barking to the Vietnamese (or Thai), CNOOC will steal all the Cambodian oil...
LOl it is very true 4:31PM.
I know about the CNOOC. Damn chinese sucker.
To 4:31PM!
So what are you trying to say? Are you saying that it is better for the Thaicong and the Vietcong to steal Cambodian oil better than the Chinese? The fact is the fucken Thaicong and the fucken Vietcong had been stealing Cambodian natural resource and annexed Cambodian land more than the Chinese ever since!
For example, Just look at Pailin the diamond rich province of Cambodia and Pailin is turning into a moonscape thank to the Thaicong and they even want to claim Phrea Vihea and Angkor Wat as there! What about the Vietcong? Well, the fuckenVietcong annexed Cambodian Island Koh Tral which is the size of Singapore and all the land along Cambodian eastern border with the Vietcong and currently and most of Cambodian natural resources flow to Vietname through corrupted AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave officials!
Nobody has yet to pump a single drop of oil from Cambodia and now you accuse the Chinese of stealing oil from Cambodia? ahahhaha! You are such a dumb fuck!
What I worry the most is when AH HUN SEN make all those Cambodian oil revenue as secret and began draining Cambodia in billion and billion of dollars of oil money! By the way according to BBC NEWS,"The head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu(Nigerian), said more than $400bn (£211) of oil revenue had been stolen" from Nigeria!
There is a Cambodian saying! When the thief inside the house gave out the outside thieves a helping hand and there won't be anything left in the house! So far AH HUN SEN thief is giving the outside thieves a helping help and Cambodia soon won't have anything left!
Now that's what I call Chinese's mentality 10:24PM!
