The French government promised to provide US$90,667,943 in aid for a three-year development program extending between 2007 and 2009. This aid is part of an important strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and France. The French government promise was made by Jean-François Desmazières, the French Ambassador in Cambodia, during a meeting he had with Hor Namhong, the vice-prime minister and minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the afternoon of 05 July 2007 in Phnom Penh. The promise of the French government was also presented during the first Cambodian Development Cooperation Forum (CDCF) held in Phnom Penh on 19-20 June 2007.
