Very sad to hear that Abbot TIM SAKORN has been defrocked by our Monk Chiefs. What ashame. Tep Vong and Non Nget really showing their sin. I don't think these two clowns put their hearts and souls to Lord Buddha to forgive those whose willing to sacrafice their soul protecting others. TEP VONG AND NON NGET will go to HELL>. I hate it the way they are giving into Vietnamese mastery. Cambodia should have its indepedence and freedom from any nation that grips it. The letter of commanding to defrock monk Venerable Tim Sokhorn in not based on Buddha's vinaya rule, it is political activity. The issue of Vietcong's influence to dominate Cambodia is intensifying now.

On 16 June Venerable Buddhist Clergy Director Nun Nget wrote a letter to Supreme Buddhist Patirarch Tep Vong to seek his approval of the defrocking of Venerable Chief Abbot Tim Sakhorn of North Phnom Den pagoda, Phnom Den commune, Kirivong District, Takeo province. Ven. Nun Nget claimed that Ven. Tim Sakhon's conduct was contrary to the Buddhist discipline and this misconduct destroyed national and international solidarity, especially the solidarity between the two countries, Cambodia and Vietnam, when Ven. Tim Sakhan had been using the monastery as a headquarter for propaganda and this act had been affecting the discipline and dignity of Buddhism.
However, the letter did not mention any evidence to support Ven. Nun Nget's allegations against Ven. Tim Sakhorn: what offences and Ven.Tim Sakhorn had committed and when and where these offences had been committed? Had there been any witnesses to these offences? Nor did Ven.Nun Nget mention the principles and procedures that he had followed before he arrived at a decision to discipline Ven. Tim Sakhorn with defrocking. The letter did not mention or refer to any case file that might be attached to it.
By failing to provide evidence to support his allegations and follow the principles and procedures for the disciplining of monks, Ven. Nun Nget has grossly violated the Buddhist Monastic Code, especially its part on Adhikarana-samatha or � the settlement of issues" which provides for the principles and procedures for what is called in the secular justice system a �fair trial� for monks suspected of having violated the Buddhist discipline and also various degrees of discipline, including confession and promise not to repeat the act, probation and defrocking. Adhikarana-samatha stipulates that a monk suspect is to be �tried� by the community of monks to which he belongs or a committee of monks, those monks can cross-examine the suspect, and the suspect can defend himself.
Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong overlooked this Adhikarana-samatha and hastely (or blindly?) approved the defrocking of Ven. Tim Sakhan just one day after the letter of request had been sent to him.
The defrocking of Ven. Tim Sakhan is very arbitrary and very much un-Buddhist. It is a gross miscarriage of justice on the part of the Buddhist leadership. It has done great harm to Buddhism.
