During the celebration of the fisheries day on 01 July in Takeo province, Prime Minister Hun Sen called on the local authorities along the borders with neighboring countries to ban the import of domestic animals, including pigs, chicken and ducks… Regarding this ban, Hun Sen said that it was done (1) to prevent the safety threat on people from bird flu contagion which is spreading in several countries in the area, as well as in the world; and (2) if such import is allowed into Cambodia, our people can no longer raise domestic animals [due to foreign competition], and that it is impossible to know what kind of other diseases will be imported and spread to our population, because, now, our people no longer eat to just fill their stomach, they also want good and healthy food.

When Hun sen is saying Ban Ban' there are more monies coming to him" . This is how Cambodia has been operated since 1993 under Hun sen. Hun sen is indeed needing monies every day to pay his 4000 bodyguards. Without monies to pay these 4000 bodyguards, his life will be in danger. Therefore he has to ban all kind of exercises so that people will bring monies to pay him as bribery. In a civilised society, each ministry, their respective minister know very well how to act according to the cisrcumstance. But in Cambodia under Hun sen, all ministers have to be dummy if not Hun sen will remove within 24 hours.
I support his approach.
I hope his words worthed this time. PM HUN SEN please take serious action on this self killing economy. Talking about trading, if they can bring in items to sell in our country we should be able import items as well. The street goes both ways. Don't let them kill our economy. Western of Cambodia using Thai Bath, Phnom Penh using $$$. How can Riel be worthed. Please think. Where is the so call economist in Cambodia? LOL< isn't his name Cham Prasith????? Come on don't tell me your got your degree from economy and not know what you'r doing? I hope PM HUN SEN meant it.

Black market is alive and well in Cambodia because of deep corruption among all level of Hun Sen officials...This is the very reason why it is so hard for Cambodian businesses to compete with Vietname and Thailane! Hun Sen and his stupid economic open door policy done serious damage to the whole Cambodian economic system!
I had seen some of the poorest Cambodian farmers who are selling orange from Thailane and Vietname! I wonder to myself...don't these Cambodian farmers know how to grow orange?! I already knew the answer!
