3 Malaysian men of Chinese origin who were involved in the trafficking of 4 kilos of drug from Cambodia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, were sentenced by the Phnom Penh municipal court, on 31 July 2007, to 28 years of jail time each, and they were also fined 70 million riels each (~$1,750). The three men arrived in Cambodia posing as casino gambler tourists, one after another, in November of 2006. They gambled at the Royal Palace casino, and tried to depart to Malaysia on 30 November 2006, but they were arrested by custom officers at the Phnom Penh international airport when a search of their luggage found 24 bags of drugs, weighing a total of 4.1 kilos.
