Monday, August 27, 2007

Tourism officials from Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam met in Cambodia’s Sihanoukvile last week to engineer ways to boost the development of tourism in the three countries’ common coastal areas.

Cambodia’s Secretary of State for Tourism Thong Khon said after the meeting that participants have agreed upon measures to strengthen cooperation among the three countries in order to turn their common sea area into an attractive tourism destination.

The meeting was held on August 24 under the sponsorship of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the initiation of Cambodian authorities.

High on the agenda of the meeting were discussions on the training of human resources for sea tourism, linkage tours between tourism destinations in the three countries as well as the exchange of experiences and tour operation management in the tourism sector.

The second meeting of its kind is scheduled to take place in Thailand in 2008.

I never thought for a moment that Cambodia under AH HUN SEN leadership can be so stupid! Cambodia has the goose that laid the golden egg and now Cambodia want to share the goose with the Thaicong and the Vietcong?

Tell me something here! Can Angkor Wat be divided by Cambodia, Vietname, and Thailane?

The concept of tourism is base on uniqueness of the country and geography! Now if Cambodia wants to join Thailane and Vietname and there won't be any uniqueness left to tell world because now Cambodia, Vietname, and Thailane are like one country!

The very reason that tourists want to come to Cambodia because Cambodia can offer many unique things that are Cambodian which are different from Thailane and Vietname!

I say no to any kind of cooperation with Thailane and Vietname in tourism because it will be the kiss of death for Cambodian tourism industry! So far Cambodia has 20% jumps in tourism in 2007 and there is a reason why! Like they said if ain’t broken and why fix it!
