Hanoi’s mouthpiece Trinh Ba Cam said that Monk Tim Sakhorn is currently temporarily jailed while awaiting for his court appearance because he is accused of undermining the implementation of policies for international solidarity. Trinh Ba Cam said that he does not know how long Monk Tim Sakhorn’s jailing will last. Vietnamese news agencies reported this week also that Monk Tim Sakhorn is being jailed by the Vietnamese authority. Thach Setha, the executive director of the Khmer Krom Community said that the Cambodian government is responsible for the safety of Monk Tim Sakhorn. He said that the government deported Monk Tim Sakhorn so that Vietnam can sentence him, in violation of the Cambodian constitution. This matter will prove if the Cambodia government and its Ambassador in Viet Nam will exercise its influence to protect Cambodia citizen rights.
If this monk was a US subject, its Embassy staff will not sit on its hands on such case.It may be a different story and action.
Well we really can't expect much from government of Cambodian People Party when comes to real Cambodia citizen defense.
The CPP has proved once again that are slave to its Vietnamese master.
