Khmer Kampuchea Krom Community

To Samdech Hun Sen
Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia

Subject: Request for intervention with the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to bring back Venerable Tim Sakhorn to Cambodia

Based on the subject matter above, I am informing you, Samdech Prime Minister, that on 30 June 2007, Venerable Tim Sakhorn, Abbot of the Phnom Den North pagoda, located in Phnom Den commune, Kirivong district, Takeo province, was forced to defrock by monk officials based on the ordnance letter No. 502/07 SNKC, dated 16 May 2007, issued by patriarch Non Nget, and which also bore the approval handwriting note by supreme patriarch Tep Vong dated 17 May 2007, accusing Ven. Tim Sakhorn of undermining the solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam. Immediately following his defrocking, at 4:30 PM on the same day, a group of body guards (with unknown affiliation) took away Ven. Tim Sakhorn by car to an unknown destination. On 02 August 2007, the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Community learnt through a Vietnamese information news agency that Ven. Tim Sakhorn was jailed by the Vietnamese authority in Vietnam, where he is accused of: (1) illegal border crossing into Vietnam, and (2) undermining the friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam.

As indicated above, the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Community is requesting Samdech to help intervene with the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to:

1- Request that the family of Ven. Tim Sakhorn and various human rights organizations can meet him in prison to observe his health condition.
2- Intervene through all diplomatic channels, according to the constitution and the nationality law to bring back Ven. Tim Sakhorn to Cambodia.
3- Investigate and seek those who deported Ven. Tim Sakhorn by force to Vietnam.

Therefore, Samdech Prime Minister, we request that you urgently intervene in this case based on your ability.

Please accept my deepest respect,

Phnom Penh, 06 August 2007

(Signed) Thach Setha
Executive Director of the Khme Kampuchea Krom Community
Former Senator

In 1980, Hun Sen asked the Khmer Krom community in Southern Vietname to help him fight the Khmer Rouge but the Vietcong denied that there are no Khmer Krom people in Vietname! Ever since, Hun Sen never mention the word the "Khmer Krom people" again!

The Vietcong dare to deny the existence of the Khmer Krom people?
The Vietcong mother fucker will get their wish soon!

Freedom for Khmer Krom people and freedom for all Khmer people! The heavy hand tactic of the Vietcong will backfire!

I appreciate the diplomacy and professionalism Khmer Krom has shown.

After all this time Hun Sen and his government is unmoved despite requests after requests for intervention. This clearly shows that this government does not represent the people of Cambodia. It serves Vietnam. He groundlessly accused, defrocked, arrested and submitted his own citizen to Vietnam, to be jailed.

It is now that Khmer Krom should raise it to international level (UN, US, ASEAN,...)

Possibilities are about to exhausted...

The Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia should be burnt down too. Cambodia doesn't need Vietnamese embassy on its soil. This Vietnamese embassy is
stink! Come on Khmer! wake up and act! don't sleep! there are many
other instances beside former abbot
Wat Phnom Den case for example:
land grabs, purchase land along Cambodia border, killing Human Rights activists, killing innocent poor Khmer people who are trying to make a living in Ratanakiry province. These instances cause by yuon.
