30 police officers completed the witness protection training

30 police officers have completed their training for the protection of witnesses at the KR Tribunal (KRT). The training period which lasted between 27 August and 11 September, was organized the Khmer Institute for Democracy (KID). This is the second session organized by KID in cooperation with Germany to train Cambodian police officers so that they can participate in the protection of the tribunal witnesses, in the near future. Reach Sambath, KRT spokesman, said that the KRT supports this training because it is very important and the KRT will need these police officers. Peter Kru, a German trainer, said that this is an opportunity for Cambodian police officers who will be called to fulfill an important duty in the protection of important the tribunal witnesses, and the tribunal will necessarily need these officers in the near future.
