The city of Phnom Penh told people who owned homes next to the entrance of the Stung Meanchey Bridge to move out so that the city could build a new bridge in the near future. This information was issued on 10 September because the city hall observed that the number of vehicles traveling along the entrance of the bridge is always jammed, and the city will tear down the old bridge to build a new one that will answer the current traffic increase as well as in the future. This information added that, in order to facilitate the construction of the bridge, the city proposes to all people who have houses near the bridge entrance to tear them down before the construction start in the near future.
