The ‘Three Country Coastal Corridor’ of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam is becoming more grounded as officials from all three countries took part in discussions on the subject at Sihanoukville late last month.
30 delegates discussed topics including, boundaries of the ‘coastal corridor’, destinations that should be included, activities, and initial thoughts on branding, and marketing.
“The three governments presented their tourism products along the southern corridor. Everyone involved in the corridor project can see it has huge potential.
“While there are quite a few obstacles to be overcome, all the participants are eager to make it a reality,” said Trevor Sofield, Cambodia’s Mekong Tourism Development (MTO) Team Leader.
Other issues also addressed by the crowd of mostly government representatives included security issues, immigration, and customs.
