Funcinpec may name Ranariddh as Cambodian PM candidate
With Funcinpec's party congress just days away, the party is still considering putting forward its ousted leader Prince Norodom Ranariddh, as its candidate for prime minister in 2008, local media reported Tuesday.
Over 2,600 party representatives are set to come to Phnom Penh Thursday for the congress, marking exactly one year since the congress ousted Prince Ranariddh from Funcinpec's presidency, the Cambodia Daily newspaper said.
The party's 13-person permanent committee has been considering since last week to decide on one candidate for the premiership, Ok Socheat, an adviser to Funcinpec's current president Keo Puth Rasmey, was quoted as saying.
According to Ok Socheat, Ranariddh is still on Funcinpec's shortlist of candidates, which also includes lawmakers Prince Norodom Sirivudh and Princess Norodom Vacheara, as well as Princess Norodom Arunrasmy, who is ambassador to Malaysia and Keo Puth Rasmey's wife.
The selected candidate will then be voted on by the representatives at Thursday's congress, the newspaper said.
Funcinpec party was established by retired King Norodom Sihanouk in 1981. In the 1990s, it started co-ruling the kingdom together with the Cambodian People's Party.
Earlier this year, Ranariddh, son of Sihanouk, was sentenced to18 months in jail in absentia by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court over corruption charges filed by Funcinpec. Before the verdict was made, the prince left Cambodia and has stayed overseas ever since.

Born loser,is always died as sore loser.

2,600 love to crawl, bow and bend over."SOT TAE POUK AH CHAMKUOT HLOUNG".
Over 2,600 FUNCINPEC party representatives would vote to select Ranarith as their candidate for the premiership and for him to be able to help them getting elected to the parliament. Then only after that (the 2008 July election) they will crucify him and remove him for good from the party, whether they can share power with the CCP or not. It is Machiavellian, isn’t it! That’s Hun Sen, and the CCP, of course!
Wow, Ranarith look really pissed in the picture.
Remember, he's still the same as hun sen now. i wouldn't change gov.. it is going to worse. trust me, he will get all women and not to mention vietcong girls.
Listen to our Great King:
A song makes me smile: it says: “in one of our villages, a married man has a mistress. His wife asks him to let go of this “cumbersome” mistress. The married man answers to his wife: “My Darling, it is you who is cumbersome! If I have a choice to make, I would prefer let you go and I will only keep my mistress.” “My girlfriend, I’ll never divorce her, I’d rather divorce my wife.
Tak Ting, Tak Ting... Noy ... noy
Born loser,is always died as sore loser!
It's absurb to think that way!
For example, you can take Hun Sen. Who were born loser, then become the chief of cronies of VN.
Actually who are the loser? I think all of us are loser. Hun Sen is winning with his coercion power.
PLEASE ALWAYS RESPECT THE OLDER PERSON!
Even The old King now have some strange declarations, don't take him as a fool or an asshole. So many readers here are too young to know the Sangkum Reast Niyum. In the 1960, Cambodia prospered. One of main reason is the population believe in the old king. It's inspired cambodians to study and make Cambodia one of the most respectable country. Building a country need all of us. Look at the actual day, Hun Sen make so many lies, still nobody can't put him down. For example, why Hun Sen does have to lie to Cambodians about rice? He have saided that in the 2006 Cambodia exported the same amount rices as in the sangkum reast niyum. And if you loyal readers follow all the informations in Cambodia, You know that Hun Sen has banned the exportation of rices in 2005. In 2005, our poor agriculturors has suffered a lots from this banning. Do you know that these persons borrowed money to make rices ? Interest's rate is so high. What's an ashame from a leader like Hun Sen. Now Hun Sen got his relatives in USA, Canada, French, etc... to falsify and brainwash our western mind. For example, one of the niece of Hun Sen give birth one child in USA and another One in French. This way, She can choose a country which She would like to live. And where her money came from ??? Think about it...!!!
Well, we don't want to waste time with a few trivial issues. We only care about the big picture. That is thousands and thousands have been rescuing from their miserable lives year after year, and we forever at debt to our heroic PM Hun Sen.
