HA NOI — Viet Nam and Cambodia affirmed their desire to continue the search for the remains of Vietnamese soldiers who died on Cambodian soil, despite recovery work facing difficulties in tracking remains in remote areas.
At a meeting in Ha Noi between the two sides yesterday, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Defence and chairman of the Vietnamese committee specialising on seeking remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts, Nguyen Van Duoc, said recovery work was facing serious challenges as almost all the remains still to be found are located in remote areas where the terrain had changed since the end of conflict, making tracking remains very difficult.
The two sides discussed methods to resume the search in the coming dry season.
Duoc said 888 remains were exhumed and moved to Viet Nam in the 2006-07 dry season thanks to support from the Cambodian Government and people.
At another meeting later yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung met with leader of the Cambodian delegation Royal Cambodian Armed Forces’ Deputy Commander in Chief, General Pol Saroeun, who is also chairman of the Cambodian Committee specialising in the search for the remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers.
Hung said the visit reflected the solidarity, co-operation and traditional friendship between the two countries.
He said he was happy with co-operation between the two countries in general and the two armies in particular, and was especially satisfied with co-operative work on overcoming the aftermath of war, including searching for remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers.
He said this was an important task and the Party and Government of Viet Nam would do their best to co-operate with Cambodia.
General Pol Saroeun said the two sides were preparing to review co-operation between the two committees specialising in the search for remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers.
At the meeting with Duoc, Pol Saroeun said the sacrifice of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts during periods of war in Cambodia had contributed to bringing independence and freedom to the Cambodian people.
He agreed with the Vietnamese Government Committee’s programme on recovering Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts during the 2007-08 dry season.

That is very moral of the Vietnamese people; That is they never forget a single one of their soldier who died in a foreign land. They want to take their remain back so that they can have proper burial for them.
Yes, yes, beloved neighbor. We will do as much as we can to assist your request. Don't worry. You can count on us.
Banteay Ampil, and Phnom Chhat, Our forces put them there and dries them there.............
We told them "YOU'LL NERVER RETURN"
to Khmer land again.
Well, if you don't want Yuon on Khmer land, tell your force to send Yuon ramain back to srok yuon. Otherwise, many Yuon will come over to live here with their heroes.
Why don't they train Hok Lundy to sniff a Vietnamese scent? And if he's successful, send him to the mindfields - so he can sniff out the mines!
Isn't it a great idea? Huk Lundy: the human dog.
Indeed it is a good idea, but that is too much work. It is simpler to jut have Ah Khmer-Yuon criminals to tell where the vietnamese remains are that they wasted.
#1-Banteay Ampil, and Phnom Chhat, Our forces put them there and dries them there about 3000 yuon Chhlean Pean, we crushed about 800 Yuon Chhean Pean along the National route 69 and about 400 at Kandol and 1500 at Prey Phdav and Banteay Chhmar. they'are "Ngobb hal Ngeat".
#2- We crushed and put them at our defense line, which was elements Yuon Chhlean Pean Regiment E-16 of the 5th Division and Regiment E-1 of the 9th Division, whose supported by a squatron of T54 tanks. Captured 24 Yuon Hanoi and 56 Khmer's Heng Samrin servants.
We told them "YOU'LL NERVER RETURN"
to Khmer land again.
Wanna know more...?
I didn't see anyone asking you to stop.
Yeah !!!
50000 youn killed during 10 years invasion. I was about 19 years old in 1980 and I remember we were so motivated to fight back youns even with small weapons. People were on our side and gave all info to our troupe about youn's mouvement. There was no Hun Sen soldiers though.
Now tell more 7:13 am, we are brothers.
The CPP/Viet operations to find the remains of the Viet soldiers in Cambodia are nothing more than a trick to replace undercover old Viet soldiers with fresh ones in strategic locations throughout Cambodia.
Nobody monitors their movements, so the younger soldiers come to Cambodia as members of the search parties then they replace the old ones, who are sick, weak or reaching retirement age and living undercover for a long time. The old Viet soldiers are then dressed in the uniforms previously worn by the fresh soldiers before leaving Cambodia as members of the search parties.
Therefore, their operations serve two purposes: (1) retrieving the remains of their dead soldiers (it is not their top priority); and (2) replacing the weak, sick, or retired soldiers with fresh ones (high priority). Obviously, 4:32AM tried to fool us by focusing our attention on the No. 1 purpose and diverting our attention away from the real agenda No. 2.
Who care viet agent, fbi, or kgb, ...? we only care about returning Vietnamese soldier remains back to their land and job, job, job.
Every time, when the election day come close in Cambodia the Veit try to search the death of its solders to come home at exactly the same period of time.
Veit must be planning a very important mission in the same reason with Mr.Hun Sen.
Every Khmer people sould do the investigation of this Veit's movement in our land.
1)- a lot of illegal Veits in Cambodia and why Veit not take them home?.
2)- Why do the search at the same time on Khmer ellection day?.
In French We say : Les vietnamiens ont mis des batons dans nos roues!
They are our obstacles to our pride and real democracies.
I like this warning : replacing the weak, sick, or retired soldiers with fresh ones (high priority).
Obviously, it's true. They try to fool us again. How come don't They ask 10 or 15 years ago? Why now?
Some of their commanders are too old to work. At Kampong Cham, at some districts.srok., villagers tell me that they see a lots of young soldiers VN with their trucks. Why do we have to allow VN soldiers in our land? It's civilians mission to do these kinds of job.
Pol Saroeun is a hence static defense YUON !
As the number of Yuon vietcong reserve cadres hidden, make sure the Khmer command be aware of the yuon tricks of replacement units; in other words, the need for conducting search mission, but not for the newly trained replacement
cadres.
From this out come their idea to institute compulsory yuon vietcong military service in Srok Khmer, young Yuon vietcong were trained in haste; and their reserve units in Srok Khmer were ever organized by Khmer, as in the case of send their reserve of yuon vietcong officers and with commission's yuon vietcong officers, their newly-trained will be used for fillers in their active units.
By this time, a number of the hidden active commissioned of yuon vietcong forces are reaching the end of their periods of service or are ready for retirement.
Make sure Pol Saroeun understand yuon's Ideology.
Oh come! The Vietcong government must know that as long as the Paris Agreement is not honoring by AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave and the Vietcong government can forget about the issue of the Vietcong MIA issue! The Vietcong masters were smart enough to use the Vietcong MIA issue to create an attachment to Cambodian political issues and as long as the Paris Agreement is not honor and the Vietcong bone is just another animal bone in Cambodia! Honestly, the Vietcong government doesn’t even give a fuck about their Vietcong MIA issue that is why they chose to step on the Paris Agreement and destroy Cambodian constitution and AH HUN SEN is still a Vietcong slave for life!
The Vietcong masters and the Vietcong slaves must honor the Paris Agreement now before Cambodian people can honor the issue of the Vietcong MIA! Otherwise dog bones will be sent to Hanoi as human!
That is out of this world. Vietcong would never forget their heroes. If they accustomed not to care for their heroes, Vietnam would never be able to fence of so many enemies because no one care to fight for the country.
What you are talking about is Ah Khmer-Yuon. I never heard of them looking for any of their MIA before, have you?
What Viet's talking about? most viet soldiers were khmer krom. viet wants khmer kill khmer so they can take khmer land. think? what's idiot!
Vietcong would never forget their heroes...
This declaration is too false. How many of viets soldiers have suffered??? Please go home and try to give us your sources.
What I know is CONTRADICTION???
These soldiers don't consider themself as Hero. They consider as slave of an opportunist's VN government.
Verify your sources before saying that : Vietcong would never forget their heroes!!!
Most of the soldiers don't even what this VN government want ??? When they attack khmer in 1979...
Tell me, what most the soldiers reap ????
I am a VN and some of my families are soldiers. What They reap is my families are becoming boat people.
Don't you know what is boat people?
1:35, you are looking at the source.
Read the title of the article, dude. If viet didn't care about their heroes, they would not have bothered to search for them.
1:28, there are two types of Ah Khmer-Yuon: There those that love vietcong, and those who hated vietcong. The one who hated Vietcong (racist) think the one who love Vietcong Yuon Puppet.
got damn, Ah Hun Sen fuken Ah youn Kotorp Orp Kontin, remember guys never forget all Ah bandits Hun sen youn s'slver supporter.
Hey, we are talking about Yuon heroes here; do you mind?
The viet Minh called their aggression soldiers, voluntary soldiers. Those soldiers are not voluntary. They're the Viet elite forces who occupied Cambodia. Why Khmer care about their soldiers lost in Cambodia? Stupid Pol Sarun who is uneducated and farm boy working for Hanoi.
I am 1:35PM.
2:35PM I am looking at the source.
Do you know what it's mean to be a hero???
Invaded a country and you consider as a Hero.
We are at 21st century, dude.
Some of my relatives are vietcong solders too. They claim that they were forced to do war. So it's mean he's a force's hero ???
Look! They're still poor... and the viet government get rich by collecting golds from Cambodia.
May god bless my relatives, they don't want do any harms to cambodians. They were force to do the war.
2:35PM. in the 80s, Did you know that a lots of army trucks were bringing foods to the cambodia???? And the viet government have told to their population that the foods are for cambodians. How many cambodians did received these foods??? Anyone can confirm the reception of the foods from viets soldiers??? I think nobody can't, because the foods are for viet armies to feed and force them to fight.
2:35PM Don't you think that viets population need that foods too???
Viet should stop lying and make peace with Cambodia like Canada and USA does.
If you hurt someone, one day, you'll get hurt too.
10:51, no one naturally want to fight a war. So when they are drafted in to the arm force, some of them will see it as being forced into the arm force, but nonetheless, these people who fought for the good of their nation is considered heroic.
12:46AM As Khmer Native never considered the aggressor "Yuon Chhlean Pean" as heroes in Cambodia, only Yuon servants are considred that.
Yes, 1:31, We (Khmer) need not to think anything of the Vietnamese soldiers. It is solely for the Vietnamese people to do that on their own.
