Original report from Phnom Penh
09 October 2007
Japan gave Cambodia $8 million to support poverty reduction, in a ceremony presided over by Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and Japanese Ambassador Katsuhiro Shinohara.
The low-interest rate loan was important to Cambodia's political strategy, Hor Namhong said. Japan, the World Bank and developed countries were "partners" helping Cambodia, he said.
In Cambodia's strategy to reduce poverty, "good governance is the key," he added.

More and more, we can see that the money from donor countries feed the CPP party. All others people, If they are not close enough to the CPP get 0 dollar.
WE should appeal to all foreign government to build hospital for Cambodia in the provincial areas rather than giving Cambodian government in cash. For 8 millions dollars, Japanese government can build two good hospitals. Areak Prey
yep i agree that foreign government could build hospitals, schools, well (weld for water), etc.
Still Hun Sen and his cronies could sell it. For example, the theater, monivong hospital, and soon russia hospital...
So what are you worry about? I don't see any nightmare here. Soon or later the glass will overfill and spill the beverage to the people. Just be patient, will ya?
Funny, how it pays for condemning the Burmese government for shooting the Japanese Journalist not long ago, hehehe. Oh well, sorry brother (burmese), but we are desperate.
