New legal upset for Prince Ranarridh who is still in exile.
On Wednesday 03 October, the appeal court upheld the sentence by the Phnom Penh municipal court handed to Prince Norodom Ranariddh, The court sentenced him in June 2006 to 18-month of jail, and for him to pay $150,000 in compensation to the plaintiff, Nhiek Bun Chhay, the current Funcinpec secretary-general. At the announcement of this sentence, You Hockry called it an injustice.
“This is a political affair. We will bring this case to the supreme court,” he said in front of the reporters, at the exit from the hearing room of the appeal court.
Nhiek Bun Chhay, Funcinpec secretary-general, sued Prince Norodom Ranariddh, the former president of the Funcinpec royalist party, for breach of trust. The prince was accused of selling the land of the party headquarters located near the French embassy, to a private company.

I agree with the court 100%. Rannarith must serve his justice for his crimes. He must not allow to enter politic again as he has no good role model fro the country
Yep!
aH yap! sound like ah Youn!
Very Funny Dude!
Anyway, I like to say that I am not thrill about this case. We are wasting the tax payer's money that could be used to help our civil servant to cope with their hardship or do something else more beneficial for the people.
Ranarith is member of the king family and the king has the power to pardon him, so why waste money on nonsense. Let's try to avoid this sort of thing at all cost.
As for Ranarith, he should not take advantage of the circumstance and provoking problems within the government at the expense the tax payer money either. If this keep up, the royalist would be extinguished and condemned by the people sooner then expected. I hope he understand that people will not cope with royal shit anymore.
Let me guess: Rannaridh should go to jail. THe green deal group who robbed the nation through the heart, like Bun Sam Heang and her thieves should also go to jail.
The king will not pardon Ranarith because he want no one above the law, as much as political allow!
VIVA the King!
Hey, this is no textbook.
In reality, brothers must stick together, especially the Norodom.
Talking about this, I am still uncomfortable about about Norodom Vs Sisowat in the future. At the time of this writing, there are a number of Sisowatt still holding grouch against Sihanouk for the dead of Sisowatt Sarimatak. On top of that, the two will continued to challenging each other for the throne and fame in the future. I don't think Khmer people is safe, and I need idea on how to resolve this issue without wiping out the monarchy status if possible. Thus, I appreciate any contribution from those who shared the same concern, no joke.
PS: I know some people are not worry about this because the constitution does not give Royalist much power, but I say you are deceiving if you think the constitution is that good.
