The SRP organized a meeting with more than 500 moto doob drivers at its party headquarters in Phnom Penh at 11:00 AM on 02 October 2007, the meeting was accompanied by a serving a lunch with 500-kilogram of rice noodle and 500 loaves of bread to the participants of the meeting.

Sam Rainsy said that the meeting with moto doob drivers and cyclo drivers along with the serving of free foods and drinks is not intended to buy votes, but that this is his job as a Member of Parliament who must serve his constituents.

During the meeting, Sam Rainsy took the occasion to issue campaign message also by saying that, during the upcoming 2008 election, if his party were to win the election, and if he were to become the prime minister, he will lower the price of gasoline to about 3,000 riels (~$0.75) per liter. He also recalled that when he was the economy and finance minister, he was able to prevent the rise of the price of the US dollar, and he was able to lower the price of gasoline to 600 riels per liter only.

Sam Rainsy said that when he becomes prime minister, he will increase the salary for government employees to 500,000 riels (~$125) and he will eliminate corruption. Regarding the motorcycle driver license, Sam Rainsy said that the idea of setting a high price for the motorcycle driver license was done with the intention of extorting money form the people only. After criticizing the driver license issue, Sam Rainsy said that in order to let the people know about the traffic law, there is no need for them to attend schools, educational paperwork could be distributed to people so they can learn about the traffic law on their own at home.

CPP officials accused the meeting with moto doop drivers and the noodle lunch organized but the SRP, as a vote buying by the SRP. CPP MP Chiem Yeap said that Sam Rainsy used to accuse the CPP of distributing sarongs and rice, but now, he is learning the lesson from the CPP. The distribution of noodle is an attempt to garner votes for the upcoming 2008 election.

Chiem Yeap called on the National Election Committee (NEC) to handle the SRP for violating the election law because it is not the campaign season yet, and the SRP has started to campaign ahead of the CPP already. However, Tep Nytha, NEC secretary-general, said what the SRP did was not wrong because all political parties can do whatever they want freely outside of the campaigning period.

This is the second time that the SRP organizes such meeting. During the first meeting organized by the SRP, about 500 teachers converged to the SRP meeting.

Chiem(sheep)Yeap is an uneducated monkey. The food is for lunch, not bribing citizens like the cpp. Unlike the cpp, we're not that low.

Hey, isn't that vote buying? I mean trading food or money for vote.

I bet SRP is very desperate because they know they are going down.

CPP does more than that, they called for people to be the members of their party. They even force people to swear that must love and be faithful to the party forever.... What the fucking small thing that SRP are doing compare to this?

Hell dude, that is no small thing. There are many other things that are not being reported because the media feel sorry for the loser, if you know what I mean.

And you can say the same thing for the CPP because we have a lot of anti-CPP media who would exposed us for just feeding a carrot to a horse.

yes, understand what you mean.
I wish CPP stop push us from entering the member.
You know what if you don't become the member of the lord CPP, your business will go wrong. and many things will happen to us.

Well then, just become their member, but vote for whoever you want in the voting boot. What is the big deal?

Any how most business are pro-CPP because CPP understand the business people.

Sam Rainshit is for taxing business up to their ears and they hated him, and without the support of the business people, you chance of winning election is a long long shot.

Damn, it make me hungry seeing Sam Rainshit pour the sauce on Num Banh-Chok.

Of course it is vote buying when the CPP is doing it. Hell, if he cheated, we'll do the same. What's fair is fair.

Mr. Sam Rainsey should be the head of the Cambodian Government in 2008!!!! We want change! We want change! We want change!!!!!!!

It is good hospitality to serve food to your guests. No body sells his vote for a 25 cents bowl of noodle soup. This idiot Chiem Yeap does not know what he's talking about. I bet he has never given 100 riel to any poor Cambodian just for the goodness of his heart.

Rainsy shall be the rear for CPP pleasure after 2008 election.

Recently SRP coerced members to vote for the corrupted Eng Chhai Eang then cried out loud SRP is in need of donations to defray cost after Congress and now buying noodles to lure poor voters to listen to his stale speeches.Moral liability here, smell it?

We all want change including Rainsy presidency in order for oppositions to succeed in political reformation.

Agreed, but the SRP will never changed. It will always has Sam Rainshit as President for eternity.

There is articles claimed that Sam Rainsy was elected President again with TRANSPARENCY shit. If it is so transparent, how come I can't see who was running against him for presidency of the party? It is so OPAQUE and BLACK OUT when it come to president election, no debate or nothing. Does anyone noticed this?

hmm ... It sounds like "transparency" is a nice topic for public debate on National Television.
