The Thai women's rugby team beat Singaporean team 22-nil here on Saturday, winning the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) Women's Rugby 7's tournament.

"We are happy that we won the game and we played well this time, " said Thai coach Prateep Jusri.

Meanwhile, Laos took third place after beating the South Korea 12-10. Cambodia, who is the host country of the game, stayed at the bottom of all the five countries.

"Actually, we lost the game, but I am proud of my kids because we equal with Laos for a match and we are the youngest team in this sport field," said Andrew Newman, coach of Cambodian team.

The one-day tournament, which took place at Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, featured women's rugby teams from Singapore, Laos, Thailand, South Korea and Cambodia.

Agreed, and this is a good idea because our men team didn't win much sport award in the past; so hopefully we see some change with women team.
