HA NOI — The Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Viet Nam Summit and the Ayeyawady Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy will be suspended, said Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Le Dung yesterday.
Making the comments at a media briefing, Dung said the reason for the suspension was that Viet Nam had to focus on overcoming the consequences of the Can Tho bridge collapse and the aftermath of Typhoon Lekima and flash floods.
He said participant countries agreed with Viet Nam’s proposal for the suspension and agreed to organise the meetings at an appropriate later date.
