PHNOM PENH, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- A national museum designed to display the Khmer culture will be opened next Monday in the capital town of Cambodia's Siem Reap Province, said a government statement released on Saturday.
The Angkor National Museum, covering 20,000 square meters and built with the Khmer architecture style, will highlight the cultural heritage of the Khmer nationality through a rich collection of artifacts and multimedia exhibition, said the statement.
Siem Reap province, where the world-renowned Angkor Wat temples are situated, is the kingdom's top tourism destination. The museum is expected to become another cultural landmark for the province, the release said.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen is scheduled to preside over the museum's inauguration ceremony.
It will function as a complete tourism facility and education site for future generations to know about the kingdom's history, the statement added.

Awesome! I am yearning to see the site. Khmer pride.
Is this museum being built by Thai company even it is Khmer National museum? If it is true, then it is funny that Thai builds Khmer culture for Khmer. It's artificial culture not real, no value, not worth of visiting. It is just a commercial museum to annihilate khmer culture.
It doesn't matter who build the museum as long people are not deceived about true Khmer people in history, good and bad.
first of all the design of this museum is not khmer, second,it is run by Thai, third not sure if the the status placed in this museum will be excanged by fucking thai later on. nothing good about it.
We don't care who run the museum so long it creates job, job, job.
Stop complaining, there are plenty rooms for you too to make profit and create jobs for the people. You just have to channel you mind in the right direction.
It is disgraceful on the part of the Cambodian government for the decision to have such iconic national building be built by the country that is trying to dilute the authenticity of our the Khmer culture.
Hey, if you are stupid enough to learn false Khmer culture, that is your business. We only care about jobs, jobs, jobs.
What jobs? I dare you to add up the fucken jobs absorbed by the Thaicong businesses!
