South-West—Former Khmer Rouge cadres and people of Democratic Kampuchea regime have revealed that most leaders and cadres of the 1975-1979 Khmer Rouge regime lived the life of Riley, which had food to eat and almost enough materials to use at the time. Uncle Seng Dieb, 61, former mechanic cadre and former member of district committee in Ta Loa Zone 2, is now living in Ta Loa commune, Bakan district. “I worked and traveled with other Chinese and Khmer cadres, and they prepared only good places [for us],” he said, adding that there had been nothing inactive or negative. “They assigned people especially beautiful women to welcome [us],” he said, “those women were not only beautiful, but also dressed up well. They also had position. They had to wear silk Krama (Cambodian scarf) and cover their face to greet guests (cadres) and slept with them alone at night.”
“I was also given [a woman], but I did not care much. The woman named Hak was a weaving student. She was given to me. I apologised to her when I met her later at Prey Kantuot,” he said. He said that at night the delegation cadres could choose beautiful young woman they wanted and they would be given “direction” by the local “Angkar”. Therefore, although a cadre did not want, he had to do it since his refusal would result in death.
However, some other former Khmer Rouge cadres of the Democratic Kampuchea regime claimed that the “Angkar” and its cadres had to build a developed and great social revolution purely. They said there can’t have been vices, ladies, and drinking, but if some people said cadres had delicious and enough to eat, such as fruit, food, and even imported wine to drink, these things would have been for particular individuals and in some places only.
Sou Nath, who has undergone the Khmer Rouge regime, is now living in Trapeang Prey, Anlong Veng, Oddar Meanchey. “At the time, it was so pure,” he said on October 27, [2007], “the revolutionary leaders and cadres can’t have had well-appointed living standard with ladies for sex. The “Angkar” always tried to find out people who violated morality and purge them.”
Chab Bunthoeun, currently living in Trapeang Prey, said, “Generally, the Democratic Kampuchea regime was “pure”. There were no rich, nor poor. Farmers and workers were the owner of their country and fate. There were no private belongings, markets, currency, nor corruption.
However, Chab Bunthoeun was hesitated to talk more about this and said that there might have been some individuals secretly living in comfortable life (having enough to eat and doing light work). Some might have violated morality (by having sex with women), but it must have been done very secretly, he said.
Kuy An, former food distributor and supplier for North-West region, is currently living in Koh Chiveang, Aek Phnom, Battambang. He said that although the sexual vices had not been revealed, beautiful and young women had been “used” for welcoming important Cambodian and foreign guests. “Regarding giving direction to have pleasure with guests, it was not said or seen directly,” he said.
A grandmother a former childcare giver in the detention center in Veal Village (Ta Loa commune, Bakan district) said, “Female cadres could make contact with men in the prison cadre unit day and night and could stay in the committee chief’s house where there were delicious good food to eat, unlike the people’s or soldiers’.”

I agree with this man that Khmer Regime was the worst regime on earth. All Khmer rouge leaders have their right to kill, to sleep, to take anything they like.
-They ate the best foods than anyone else.
-They can sleep with any women they like and then they kill them to cover up their ruthless.
