Hun Sen Warns Officials Over Sale of School Land

Chun Sakada, VOA Khmer
Original report from Phnom Penh
31 October 2007

Prime Minister Hun Sen Wednesday warned public officials not to sell school properties to private investors, following the attempted sale of education property for the expansion of a housing complex in the capital.

Hun Sen said he had destroyed requests for the sale of Chau Ponhie Hok school in Phnom Penh, along with a naval command position in Sihanoukville.

"Please do not talk about dealings with schools, either in Phnom Penh or the provinces," he said, a warning to officials who might consider similar requests.

Education Minister Kol Pheng said Wednesday Hun Sen's "recommendation" was actually "an order that can stop the merchants who want to take advantage of the state."

How many warnings from Cambodian pm before real action taken seriously or somebody get nipped in the b*tt.

Many Khmer populations do not believe in him any more. Some used to believe in him and cpp because they use the card 'defet the KR.'

Now people have other issues on their mind.

Come on guys & gals,

I haven't seen any intelligent discussion in this forum. If we want the observers to judge us, then I think used some comment senses in debating each other.

What if the Vietnamese spying on KI blog, and noticed that Khmers are prone to bickering and internal conflict with each other? Freedom for all citizens ought to be our goal! WE OUGHT TO ADVOCATE FOR THE UNFORTUNATE THAT RESIDED IN CAMBODIA NOW BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A MEAN TO COMMUNICATE.

No school land sale, but land-swapping is OK. Remember the Royal University of Fine Arts, anyone? It's now located in a swamp surrounded by water. Whose shit-brained is that thinking no school has been sold yet? There used to be a school just a few blocks south of Wat Koh pagoda on Trasak Paem Road. There were others. But, wait, some shit-brained Yuon here would ask where is the evidence. Of course, no evidence because the place is now just new blocks of 3-floor flats.

If every request for sale of state properties had to go through Hun Sen, why did he let other sale and swapping of state properties slip through? This is just another pre-election deception, and his tongue has no shame and he has no guilty conscience.

Hey, you can't blame us for the royal stuffs. That is strictly the Royalist business.

As for the flood, no one have drowned so far. So, stop being such a sissies, will ya?
