The Kampong Chhnang authority is accused of preventing the Sam Rainsy Party to install party signs.
Keo Thai, vice-chairman of the SRP branch in Kampong Chhnang province, told a RFA reporter on Saturday that he was directing the installation of 9 SRP party signs in Boribo district, but when he was about to raise the 10th signs, the provincial authority came to prevent these installations.
Keo Thai said: “We installed these signs along (private) houses as usual, they (authority) came to ask about the authorization letter (to install these signs). They asked for the authorization, we gave the party authorization for the installation of these signs, not only this year, but for every (election) mandate, we did this all along. They want us to inform them all the time, they said that we don’t have the authorization. When the CPP raises their signs along public roads in anarchy, they (authority) never say anything.”
Keo Thai believes that this prevention is a political discrimination by the Kampong Chhnang authority against the opposition party.
RFA could not reach the Kampong Chhnang authority yet to obtain its reaction in this case.

I think CPP think that the sign of SRP will make public disorder. However, the CPP sign will make the public suffer. So to keep the CPP sign is better than the SRP for the Cambodian sake.
The authority and the cpp is one. It is a sign that cpp is afraid of SRP. Look at the street in Phnom Penh City, CPP leaders: Hun Sen, Chea Sim and Heng Samrin. Can SRP do that?
No, that is not it. You can't post any sign against the will of people living in the community without their authorization.
However, to stop such a stupid dispute, we should banned all political signs, period.
No! advertise as much as you can. Tell the whole world who you're! So they know what you made of and fight for the right to post the sign, SRP. Of course C.Chnang is probably full of Vietname. It's probably the highest concentration area of them all, but don't loose hope. Reach out to our people as much as you can. CPP and you has the same chance to win. The problem is, most of our people just don't know you and voting for the other party is easier and perhaps more popular. Let's make the table turn in the year of 2008.Cambodia needs change!
Political signs of any party should be allowed to post on any street in any province in Cambodia to let people know and learn about the presidential candidates who are purely want to lead the trouble nation and bring it back to normal situation. If the provincial authorities stopped political workers from being raised their signs, they must be thugs who serve Hanoi interest.
No, political signs are bad for the economy. It makes the country look politically unstable and deterred business investments that is needed for Cambodia.
