Aging Khmer Rouge leader Khieu Samphan, who was admitted to a Phnom Penh hospital Wednesday after suffering an apparent stroke, was recovering under armed guard and tight security, his wife said Friday.
He was given IV treatment and a brain scan, wife Sor Socheat said. "Now he's good."
Khieu Samphan is widely expected to face indictment by the Khmer Rouge tribunal for his role as nominal head of the regime. His apparent stroke occurred just one day after the detention of Ieng Sary and Ieng Thirith, two former leaders charged with crimes against humanity.
Family said following a collapse at his home last Tuesday that Khieu Samphan had fallen unconscious for a brief time. A government helicopter flew him from Pailin to Phnom Penh Wednesday.
Calmette Hospital Director Heng Tai Kry declined to comment on Khieu Samphan's current condition, saying only he was still under the hospital's care.

Hello 6:45AM, I agree with you 100% that at this point these criminals will play as sick as they can so to prolonge their prosecution. For example people like Sihanouk and Khiev Samphann etc.. they don't wanted to see their name as National treason for killing their own people even they have done already because these name will shame their family, their children and their ancestors. But what can they do to cover up all their criminals activities, they have to play sick and prolonge until they are going to die without charge. 2- Infiltrated viêtnamese and clandestine networks into the rows of high ranking officials of the Revolution of Kampuchea [KR].
3- Used their Viêtnamese national inside of Kampuchea to control and to become the local government. [with armed].
(I found this text written in top secret Government in yuon hanoi embassy "Provisional Revolutionary Government" (Vietcong)[PRG] in Phnom Penh after we outs them in 1970.

I was a victim of these monster. I was in Cambodia for all these trouble years until I can flee when the vietnamese invaded Cambodia in 1979. I knew very well about how Cambodian sufferings from these monsters. They killed everyone and blamed them to be vietnamese. I think you are one of you as well as one of the monster who has labelled all Cambodian to be vietcong blak teeth. Before you label anyone to be vietcong, you must know who he is. Why don't you label hun sen , chea sim, heng samrin etc.. and etc.. to be Vietcong for working for vietcong? Why don't you label Keath Chhon, Hor nam Hong , Cham Prasith , Hok Lundy for Vietcong? You must know that Vietnam has a longterm plan to take over Cambodia, thailand and all South east asia countris. If you review our history, you know that Vietnam was a small State before 1600. In 1600, they have swallowed Champa and have eliminated CHampa national by killing them or by kicking them out from their homeland. After that they have tricked Khmer King to have their people to immigrate into Khmer krom. From the 16" century until 1949, they have waged many wars against Khmer people in Khmer krom. Why they did that? They didn't respected the the owner of the land at all. By 1949, they have successfully controled Khmer Krom from France. Rememer from 1856-1949, khmer krom was still a Cambodian land. King Norodom has invited France to assist Cambodia to protect our land. France has used Khmer Krom as a French state Called Cochinchine. But when france moved out from Cochinchine in 1949, French has given illegally Khmer Krom to Vietnam King Bao Dai to finght with Vietcong of Hochiming. Vietcong has invaded Cambodia since 1965 to fight with USA. They have their troops all over in eastern part of Cambodia. It was Sihanouk who has given Cambodia to Vietcong shelter from usa bombardement. In 1970, they tricked Sihanouk to go into their side so that Cambodia can have a war. That was their plan to divide Khmer leadership. it was the stupidity of Sihanouk to be tricked by Vietcong to open Cambodia for their onslaught.
