As I can see, the Bon Oum Touk or boat racing ceremony shed us two concepts of philosophy:
If younger Cambodian generation wants to see brighter future of Cambodia, they must understand that this charity culture from those higher rank officials are only the encouraging of perpetuating corruption and Cambodia as a state has become weaker and weaker through this behavior.
Many those high-rank officials are happy to advertise themselves through the opportunity of bon oum touk and presence of the King.
Their political legitimacy is very low and disgusting....this low profile political legitimacy culture comes from their previous evil backgrounds and less education.

- It is good for Cambodians to preserve this long traditional ceremony of Cambodia. It symbolizes the strength of Cambodian navy, pay gratitude to the water, to farewell the starting receding of water, and to entertain Cambodian peasants from hard work of crops cultivating.
- But it is surely if you watch TV or listen to Radios, or read newspapers; Cambodian's bon oum touk is the occasion for those Cambodian high-rank officials to advertise their names, power and position through sponsoring with many projects: starting from sponsoring TVK, to boat crew, to rice, to cloths, too many and others...etc

Almost right, but that is exactly how Ah Shameless Khmer-Yuon lost their lands to Vietnam and became Yuon slaves today forever. Their leaders was born corrupted. All they can think off is wealth and pretty Vietnamese women, they celebrate the festival each year just to search for their interest but without a drop of concern for any of their citizen (once known as Xmer Xrom), And bit by bit, their leaders gave and traded all Ah Khmer-Yuon lands away to Vietnam.
On the other hand, in Cambodia, Bon Om Touk give our leaders a chance to unite all real khmers from every provinces and the nearby nations so that we all can share information (issue and concern) regarding our country and the region while we relaxed and celebrated our traditional festival with our friends and neighbors.
And the above difference is what made us succeed and Ah Khmer-Yuon (or Xmer Xrom) extinct today. I mean zero, nada, empty, ..., null. And what you see claiming to be Xmer Xrom here and there and abroad are really 100% Yuon citizens imitating Khmers because they envied and jealous at our sucess.

Why are you so discriminating with Khmer Krom people? Are you Youn spy who is trying to eliminate Khmer Krom first; and after that you will eliminate Khmers in Cambodia?
Youn's strategy is to eliminate all Khmers, not only Khmer Krom. But now Youn is using diplomatic tactic that many Khmer people can not see this reality.
They are using tactic like in Laos because doing so Youn can benefit two things: to have more funding from international community in their client states; and to play their role in the international stage as a good friendship, but secretly Youn is tending to have complete control through gradual absorbing of alliance strategy.
Khmer leaders are united during Bon Oum Touk? Ok, yes there are some level, but some other angle, they are united to make money laundering, to advertise their luxury, to legitimate their power, and to spend small amount of money from their corrupted pocket...etc
You are so ignorant to say anything for brighter future of Cambodia....what you are seeing is only to creating cronyism and favoritism in Cambodia.

The questions are how far can they go,how much more to satisfy their greed and how long can they enjoy the laundered money and wealth they have robbed from the nation and its people? Well it remains to be seen and I wish to remind these thugs again and again to be afraid, be very afraid of the up coming future that will sweep their luxurious lives in just days if not hours.

Keep in mind, that your people are losers, and we are winners. We used Bon Om Touk to strengthen relationship of all Khmers in the country and our allied from nearby nations which covered nearly all Asia continent and beyond. That is how we succeeded and you failed big time.

You are blind and ignorant...those civilized countries, their elite leaders and politicians have never used any intention to proselytize, manipulate, lure or deceive their own people by advertising their wealth luxury, donation, power, position and political legitimacy.
In developed and democratic countries, political elites don't build roads, schools, hospitals, temples or other public property by themselves to advertise their own name....but through their contribution to the country, the people or rich people will build for them as a symbol of their virtue.
For the charity is mostly operated by only business tycoons who are not affiliated with politics.
You are ignorant and corrupted because you can not see those powerful political leaders are sucking millions from the nation and Cambodian people but give back only small amount and advertise themselves as generous...those evil leaders use corrupted money to deceive Cambodian people to legitimize their power...this is not an act of educated leaders, but ignorant leaders.
Cambodia has to enforce anti-corruption law and avoid from present charity culture, so that we can see brighter future of Cambodia.
