The delegation of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) led by Michael Cromartie, met with Khmer Kampuchea Krom monks at Prasat Kong pagoda, in Khleang provinces, Kampuchea Krom (South Vietnam) on 01 November 2007.
The meeting was held after it was reported that the Vietnamese authority had oppressed Khmer Krom people living in that region.
A report provided by a Khmer Krom monk indicated that the US delegates met with 10 Khmer Krom monks on Wednesday, but none of the monks who participated in the meeting would confirm it for fear of their safety and security. “It’s very difficult, as I said it, no matter what we do, we face hardships, we cannot talk about this issue,” the Khmer Krom monk said.
Nevertheless, several other Khmer Krom people have declared that they are planning to tell the truth if the US delegates ask them.

What the Vietcong have done so far is to put brave face on the Khmer Krom situation because the Vietcong know that Michael Cromartie aint going stay in Vietname for long! Khmer Krom people have more difficulty than the so called money problem since 1949 and even after 1949 and even today in 2007 the Khmer Krom have nothing only the will power to fight the Vietcong oppression nonstop!
