A number of civil society associations and organizations have announced a campaign in the entire country, starting from 09 December, to collect thumbprints or signatures from about 1 million of supporters to demand that the government send the anti-corruption law soon to the National Assembly for debate and approval. According to the Rasmei Kampuchea newspaper, during a forum held at a cultural center in Phnom Penh on 09 December – the International Anti-Corruption Day – several guest-speakers talked about the rampant corruption which seeps into all fields and all levels of the Cambodian society. This corruption led to a loss in the state coffer of between $400 to $500 million each year. Forum participants hope that all levels of the authorities will cooperate to distribute information about the signature and thumbprint collection campaign, in order to provide support for the approval of the anti-corruption law.

Why not? anti-corruption law will look good but will not solve the problem at this point. At best, this type of law will only deterred a few rich individuals from being corrupted, and that is it. Just look at our new law to fight counterfeit drugs. How effective is it right now?

The law is ineffective because of the government is inability to govern/enforce the law.

Corruption is CPP cancer and they keep it growing. One day this cancer will kill them.

It's so sad that there are still people not wanting to support this important anti-corruption law like this guy from CPP. These people need to be gotten rid of bfore corrution itself can be rooted out.
