Al Jazeera's First Person: Surviving Cambodia's Tuol Sleng prison
December 03, 2007
Of the estimated 14,000 prisoners who were sent to Cambodia's infamous Tuol Sleng prison during the Khmer Rouge regime, only a handful are known to have survived.
One of them is 61-year-old Bou Meng, who spoke to Al Jazeera about his terrible experiences.

Wow, this person may be a strong witness against Duch.
If I understand the clip correctly, it shows that Duch can make decision to allowed people to live.
But then again, if Duch makes bad decision, his ass will be on the line. We need to collect more information.
Very interesting.
Damn those F*kn Khmer Rouge bastards. How can you do that to your own people. I just can`t understand it til this day.
For those that say Hun Sen is beter than the KR, your wrong. Remember anyone can make anything out nothing. That was what Hun Sen did. He got the chance to turn Cambodia into something. But he did that to stay in power after he wrestled it from the winner.
You say Cambodia economy is better now, but only to those that are higher in Rank feel the ever wonderful changes. Note, it is not the Hun Sen cronies interest to see Cambodia better. It is the international countries that is doing it. All the cities that see a boom in economy is because of foreign interest. The government get the back end benefits because of that.
Just read when there is a boom in the city, It is the foreigns that put up the money to invest, not the Government.
Human Right must be practiced everywhere in the world. This type of suffering must end now!!! and never again let it repeats itself.
What are you going to do UN? Will you use part of fund or from the $ 56 millions KRT to help some of those who were suffering the ultimate suffering such as the man in the story??? or will you campai gne a very power campaigne to really help this man out? He deserves the world attention and the kind of money and comfort that he can ever imagine to have. He derserves love and honor for every breath that he has left. To let him leave this world just like another tree just wouldn't be appropriated. Would you think that he should ???
Bullshit, 1:09. If it wasn't for PM Hun Sen, Bou Meng would be dead in prison by now with his bad eyes and unable to paint for the regime.
I think Former K.Sihanouk's Chanh Bouk Youn Ho Chi Minh.
And ...?
Former K.Sihanouk is made a Bad Misstake.
It can't be bad Mistake when Cambodia is still here.
1:53 AM speaking after the fact about his eye condition. He would have continue to survive for the fact the KR was ready to fall apart. Two side of KR was already fighting each other. VN found the weak point and move in on it.
It was a catch 22 for our citizens. Continue to be murdered for trumped up reason or liberated by our FOE.
Hun Sen is using the same mythology as KR. Just 21st century way. Let the people live, but live poorly
Anyone who thinks the KR did not murder their own people must be put to death
I feel so sorry for this man. I hope someone would provide with some assistance as a living witness in the world worst human tragedy.
That is the stupidest theory I ever heard of, 4:06.
Hun Sen did not created poverty in Cambodia. It was the three previous administrations that did it.
Each year, we delivered hundreds of thousands out of poverty, and you got to be blind if you don't see this.
you said hun sen did not create poverty; then what do corruptions, impunity, land grabbing, illegal logging, exploiting natural resources etc... create?
Well, those are byproduct of poverty. Therefore, get rid of poverty, and those things should all faded away.
are you sure you know what you are talking about? so what the fuck your prime minister do for the past 28 years? isn't that enough time? get your logic straight dumb ass!
