Vietnam and Cambodia have agreed upon 26 more positions for planting landmarks along their border, bringing the total land border markers between the two countries to around 200.
The agreement was reached at the fourth session of the Vietnam-Cambodia Land Border Joint Technical Sub-Committee, which took place in Cambodia ’s capital city of Phnom Penh from November 30 to December 2.
During the meeting, the two sides also agreed on various measures to speed up the process of demarcation and landmark planting in order to complete the work prior to the end of next year.
The Vietnamese delegation to the session was led by the National Border Committee’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Thao, who is also a standing member of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee for Demarcation and Landmark Planting and head of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Technical Sub-committee.
The Cambodian delegation was headed by Long Visalo, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation and head of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Technical Sub-committee for Demarcation and Landmark Planting.

- Many Cambodian kings in the past asked Vietnam to help them to power regardless of losing sovereign integrity.
- During French colony, French favored Vietnam and gave opportunity to Vietnam in influencing Cambodia.
- Khmer Rouge leaders were heartedly supported by Vietnam to overcome Lon Nol. But China wholeheartedly supported Khmer Rouge to betray Vietnam because Vietnam betrayed China when they can unify North-South Vietnam.
- Vietnam wholeheartedly supported Hun Sen, Heng Samrin and Chea Sim to power. And now these three leaders (Sam Kok) are still in power to the present. With a weak country leadership in present Cambodia that is full of corruption, crimes, drugs and lawless state will not ensure stable Cambodia at all.
- Chronologically, Vietnam was smart to adopt their doi moi policy in 1986 to upgrade their political agenda to further national interests. From that party congress, Vietnam accepted multi-alliance policy but keeps Cambodia under their sleeve. So that why Vietnam accepted to withdraw their military from Cambodia, re-ally with China, US and other nations. But one important thing is that Vietnam has still likely been keeping firmly Cambodia-installed government under their sleeve to gain benefits for their nation.
So our present Sam Kok is really independent from Vietnam?

Cambodia needs younger generation like who who doesn't only feel imporant to having change that you want to see brighter future of Cambodia, but you have also developed in academic study in factualizing Cambodia politics and her present leader.
Cambodian brighter future and brighter generations will not be extreme or radical in facing with problems, but they are realistic people equipped by rationalized solutions.
Your explanation of Hun Sen's leadership style and the danger of Cambodia under his style is absolutely meaningful.
He is full of criminal records, failure to bring independence from Vietnam, failure to build Cambodia as a state ruled by law, and failure to tackle corruption, are underscoring the total failure of Hun Sen who is egoistic to lead Cambodia.
Cambodia has experienced bad and bad through this arrogance behavior of leadership.
However, chance for Hun Sen is still left for him to change and adjust his arrogant attitude as a leader.
