The Phnom Penh city hall rejected the request made by the Human Rights Party to hold a public forum at the Phsar Chas public park in order to find a solution for the reduction of gasoline price in Cambodia. Nuon Someth, cabinet chief of the Phnom Penh city hall, said the city hall rejected this request because it was concerned that this forum could affect public order and safety. However, the city hall suggested that the forum be held at the HRP party headquarters instead. On 18 December, the HRP sent a letter to the Kep Chuktema, the Phnom Penh city governor, to request the use of either the Veal Meru (or Veal Men), or the Phsar Chas public park to hold the public forum on 29 December, with the participation of at least 5,000 people. The goal of the forum is to find a solution to reduce the price of gasoline in Cambodia which is sky high right now.
