Kem Sokha denies meeting with Ranariddh in France

Kem Sokha, HRP president, who just arrived from France on 25 December, denied that he met with Prince Norodom Ranariddh while he was in France.

Kem Sokha’s denial came after a number of local newspapers reported, a few days ago, that opposition leader Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha traveled to France to meet with Prince Ranariddh, with the aim of uniting the royalists and the democrats based on the call issued by the prince. Sam Rainsy also rejected, at the end of last week, that he did not meet with the prince during his tour in Europe.

Kem Sokha, who was visiting France for one week, told the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper that he did not meet Prince Ranariddh in France, not even over the phone. He said that his trip to France was not to meet the prince, he visited France to participate in his party congress in Europe.

Besides meeting with his party members, Kem Sokha said that he met with French parliamentarians to discuss about the upcoming 2008 election in Cambodia. He told the Kampuchea Thmei, that during the meeting, he asked French MPs and EU MPs to conduct election observation in Cambodia, in order to provide transparency in the election under the democracy initiative.

Kem Sokha indicated that his travel would not be important, if he were to travel there to meet with the prince. Regarding the question as to whether the HRP will unite with the NRP or not, Kem Sokha told Kampuchea Thmei that the forming of an alliance is easy, but the main point is whether these individuals can serve the nation and the people or not.

Kem Sokha added that he used to know the prince very well. The prince kept on talking about uniting the royalists, and the democrats, and that he never commit any errors in the past, but how can one trust the prince, if his own party has problems starting from now already? Furthermore, the prince’s party also bears the prince’s name (and this is not an acceptable condition for the HRP).

I rather keep CPP to lead the country because Human rights could't improve anything at all or maybe worse?

YOU GOT TO SEE STRAIGHT IN YOUR EYES FOR THIS ONE!

Mr. Khem Sokha, To save our nation or to serve Hun Sen? We used to support and praise Mr. Khem Sokha when he was a member of the BLDP and later the president of the Human Rights Organization. Because of his hard work, courage, patriotism, and a championship of protecting human rights. And then he has become well-known because of these accomplishments. Nonetheless, when we saw him jumped to create his own political party, it was not just disappornted us, but we see him lost all his credibility to fight the current evil regime. First, he falls into Hun Sen's trap unconsciously; Hun Sen uses him as a tool to split the democrat votes, namely to target SRP. Although Mr. Sokha wants to fallow Hun Sen's will or not, but he has no choice. Before Khem Sokha created his HRP, he was trucked by a pending lawsuit orchestrated by Hun Sen for his curruption within his organization even later he was found no guilty by the auditor, but Hun Sen still ordered the court to keep his pending lawsuit.
Now Hun Sen has a leverage against Khem Sokha at his will. Khem Sokha has to force himself to walk on a tied rope. If Khem Sokha creates his party to serve Hun Sen's trick as a tool to split the democrat's votes or directly to weaken the SRP, He will be free from lawsuit, but if Khem Sokha does not create his party or creates his party to directly compete with Hun Sen or strongly criticizes Hun Sen as he used to do, Hun Sen will order the court under his feet to prosecute him like Ranariddh.
Now Khem Sokha has no alternative way but to walk on a designated line drawn by Hun Sen. In the past, we used to hear Khem Sokha's fierce criticism the Hun Sen regime on human rights abuse, corruption, illegal immigration, unfair border treaty with Vietnam, land grabing, deforestation, and so on. But, since the HRP has been created, we have heard none of these words from Khem Sokha. Instead, we frequently hear Khem Sokha complaining about other parties using their leader personal names as party names, limiting party president's terms, democratizing within the party.... To restore his credibility and truthworthy, Mr. Sokha should join with the democrat forces without any condition so that we are able to from a majority win the next election. Whenever we win, we are free from the Vietnamese yoke, and Mr. Khem Sokha is also free from his pending lawsuit orchestrated by Hun Sen too.

You could explain your point of view, but it is rather childish to use this kind of language against other compatriot. It is alright if you are supporter of Kem Sokha. Anyone is entitled to his/her own view. Be respectful and cosiderate. Then we can advance our cause together.

Fuck Mr. Kem!

Now, he's playing with fire!

This guy looks really fucked up!

Why just use your remaining time and spend with your families and friends? And why bother to foray into the political arena?

If -- yes, if you elected to be the prime minister of Cambodia, you're no difference from the others.

Get a life!

What is common grounds?.Liberated our country from Vietnamese occupation and kick Hun Sen out of politic.Solution How ?
1-organized under ground revolution or go to jungle(makee) carrie arms.Solution NO,the world not support anymore this style of revolution.
2-car bomb.Solution NO,It's not a Cambodian style of committed suicide
3- Democratic process by going to the poll to vote.Solution YES
-SRP can win majority in 2008
Solution NO
-HRP can win majority in 2008
Solution NO
-NRP way behind
But if this 3 parties or just 2 parties join a coalitions, we can have a chance to win in 2008.
Why don't we try this solution.
EU proposed a coalition: SRP say NO
HRP say YES NRP Welcome.Ask SR Why?
SR said ,he can win a majority without joining a coalition. If the other party want to join yes i welcome you but you have to sit in the back and let me lead alone.
HRP said we can join but with conditions but can be debate at the meeting.
NRP:welcome all the way but still want to lead too.
Solution: Looking the thirth party to involt.Who is the thirth party?
Retired well respect Khmer politicians to form an adhoc committee and invited those parties to come to the table. We will see who accepted an invitation. If this solution is not work, let the history will judge.
This is (veasna) or Khmer (Cama).
Are you join (KOK) or (KLA) tiger
neak mean pangha teip tha (troy)?.I am very frostrated,i can't sleep when i thinking about the Cambodian politic. This is 3:23am in the morning.

To 6:24 PM, you are a real patriot and passionate compatriot if all Khmers have the same vision and wisdom like you, our beloved country will be free from the Vitnamese yoke. We wished all our compatriots try to brainstorm a positive solution for our unfortunate country.

Gentleman

Thank you for your comment 11:24pm.
I addressed for the democrats, your third option is an ideal, everyone will go for it i believe.
My opinion suggests that we should lay platforms in black and white, based on:

1-Prevail basic human rights(rights for foods, shelter, clothing and basic human health).

2-Relevences of national/international issues
relating to cambodia.

3-Appropriate or scientific methodology for process of united goals(principal of causes and effects).

4-Majority ruling with sensible, explainable solution.

Our aim is not greed for power, but power to change(change is natural phenemina) for aboved goals appicable.

I can understand that SRP is very reluctant to agree to amalgomation due to the past failure in 2005.I also witnessed the inauguration of it.If the unity occurs, it is worthwhile to have all preparations and agreements sooner.
EU is also to be briefed with facing constraints of political differences.

Democrats have to ensure that all pricipals are in place, NO monopoly or manipulation in mind.
We have to stop entrust person as master but recorgnise the desirable outcomes the leader achieved.

I understand the more you think about our homeland's destiny, the more frustrated we become.
Thank you for your brave heart.
