Leaders of the HRP declared that they will not allow the HRP to unite with any other party without setting its conditions.
In a statement issued recently, the HRP presented its four conditions in order for any political party to unite with the HRP, prior to the upcoming 2008 general election.
Kem Sokha, HRP President, discussed about these 4 conditions during a declaration he gave yesterday: “Any party that can unite with the HRP, must at least have 4 common goals (as the HRP). (1) the term of party president must be limited to 2 at most, for a period of 10 years (in total?), (2) there must be a division of power inside the party, that is one individual cannot hold power to everything, (3) the party president must declare his assets, and (4) the party name must not bear the name of an individual. There must be at least these 4 conditions before we can talk about unification with each other.”
It is believed that the specifications of these 4 conditions came about after Prince Norodom Ranariddh sounded the HRP about forming an alliance in order to fight the CPP during the upcoming 2008 election.
Nevertheless, the HRP did not indicate if it presented these 4 conditions as a response to any particular party, however, Kem Sokha declared that they are the HRP’s general unity stance.
Furthermore, regarding Prince Ranariddh, Kem Sokha indicated along with his evaluation that: “The HRP is currently conducting unification, for example with H.E. Pen Sovann who participated, H.E. Keo Remy also participated, H.E. Son Soubert also participated. We are nationalist democrats who are uniting with each other. The leader of other parties, such as Prince Ranariddh, he does not have the ability to unite nationalist and democratic Cambodians, even his own people within the Funcinpec, he cannot unite them, and even his own family, he can’t even unite them, therefore it is very difficult (for him). We have no confidence that leaders of other political parties can unite the nationalists, that is why we form the HRP. We had and we are conducting the unification, that is why, if there is any political party, or any individual who adhere to similar democratic principles, we will continue to unite with them, this is necessary.”
The NRP has not reacted yet to the HRP declaration.

To the leadership of the HRP – it sounds like no democratic party in Cambodia is at your level. You have considered those that struggle for the freedom and democracy in Cambodia as your foes already. By the look of your conditions you guys are more concerned about power than the salvation of the Khmer nation and her people. Good luck with your attitudes. I hope some one wakes up and sees the big picture, and gets the priorities right.

I think that Kem Sokha knows very well about the split of BLDP (Budhist Liberal Democratic Party?) then became Son Sann Party? Why did this happen?-Because the CPP used their agents in the party and break a way and claim the name. What if HRP and SRP unite and have a new name and CPP agents break a way and claim the name again? Then all efforts become useless-waste of time, waste of resources? Can any one guranttee that there is no break away?

Who's else dare to limit own's term to ten years? Who's else dare to declare own asset? Stop sucking khmer blood any more. My advice to SRP and NRP do not change your party names yet because I heard Keo Ramy told his wife that this is only the strategy for SRP or NRP to change their party names and then CPP will create one exactly the same. Remember, Khmer Nation Party or Sen San party?

I think who support SR do not know KS from inside out and who support KS do not know SR enough either.
SR uses his name for the party because he had problem with its name before. So he doesn't want it to happen again. If you are in his shoe, you will do the same.
Yes, KS was sued but it doesn't mean he is guilty. If you assume he is guilty, you are the same CPP and its courts where they give no justice to people. Just because someone sue him it doesn't mean he guilty or he did it.
SR hangs on to the power maybe he did not see any one is strong or good enough to take the lead yet.

KS has one wife only. He had a girl friend about 5 years ago. Now they are not together anymore and she also married to another man. Does his wife know? Yes, she does.

When he put his children to study in USA, he borrowed poeple. He now still owes me $25,000 to pay his daughter's education.
SR and KS meet each other whenever they are outside the country like Paris, Canada and USA. They go to night clubs together. They call each other very often. They are close friend.
If you, KI, are good in getting information, please get the real one about them and tell the world. You know SR so well, so tell the truth and don't just put down one side. Any news like this will not help SRP nor HRP. Please let these two great leaders do their jobs and stop painting their face.

A good leader has to COMMUNICATE. Communication has to start with telling the truth, even when it's painful.
The problem is none of the leaders know how to communicate but like to dictate instead.
For that reason Sam Rainsy can step aside and let someone be the president and he still can be the prime rib if his party won.Probably he can use AD to deputize Kem Sokha as his close friend when needed to go to nude club.
Other countries,like UK Tony Blair was not the president of his aprty but he got the nomination because he can campaign.Not dictate like democrats in Cambod.

Something like Great Leaders Close Friend said it here will never come out from these two leaders themselve. They are not stupid to tell the world about their secret life. I do not believe this "Close Friend" 100% but it is possible because these two leaders are human.
