On December 17, 2007, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, about 50 Khmer-Krom Buddhist monks with a petition marched to Vietnamese Embassy. The petition called to the government of Vietnam to firstly, release Venerable Tim Sakhorn who was defrocked and deported from Cambodia and imprisoned in Vietnam; secondly, release five Khmer-Krom Buddhist monks who are imprisoned in Khleang (Soc Trang) province, thirdly, resolve the conflicts of Khmer Krom land confiscated by the Vietnam government in the post 1978; lastly, for the Vietnam government to respect the rights of indigenous people. The monks were abruptly stopped by sixty Cambodian police armed with shields, wooden and electrical batons, and some armed with pistols and assaulted Ak-47 rifles.

Since the Vietnamese Embassy refused to take the petition, the determined monks then seated in front of the embassy and began to chant, after awhile the monks seeing that it is hopeless to wait any longer and decided to return to their pagoda. But for some of the monks they did not want to relinquish so they tried to move closer to the embassy. Unfortunately, the monks were stopped aggressively by Polices, beaten and electrocuted with the batons. The helpless monks tried to depart back to their pagoda as fast as they could run. The police chased the monks for more than four blocks, along the way the police either kicked the monks with their boots or beat them with their batons.

According to Article 4 of Cambodia Constitution “The Motto of the Kingdom of Cambodia is: Nation, Religion, King” and in Article 43 “Buddhism shall be the State religion.” Even when the King of Cambodia meets a monk; he still has to show his respect because it is a state religion. Unfortunately, on December 17, 2007, Cambodia Police violently broke the motto of the nation to deliberately beat the Buddhist monks.

It is appalling to see pictures of Cambodian armed police kick a powerless monk trying to escape so hard that he ascended into the air and to see monks electrocuted so severely that caused them to faint. Is it true that in Cambodia, the law enforcers are allowed to beat helpless Buddhist monks?

Surprisingly, according to Radio Free Asia, on the same day, there were 39 Vietnamese who live in Cambodia without permission from Cambodian government came to protest in front of Chinese Embassy because China just took over the Spratly and Paracel islands. None of the Vietnamese protestors were harmed by Cambodian law enforcers. The question is why did the Cambodia polices just stop and beat the Khmer-Krom Buddhist monks who just tried to submit the petition to the Vietnamese Embassy, but they did not do anything to the Vietnamese who protested against China in front of the Chinese Embassy?

The Khmer-Krom Buddhist monks escaped Vietnam to seek refuge in our brother country, Cambodia, hoping that they will have their rights protected. Unfortunately, they even got beat-up by their own Khmer polices who tried to please the Vietnamese Embassy. With this heartbreaking incident, it seems that Cambodia is not an independent state.

Folks, please try to find names of those police officers and keep them in good record for future promotion.

An army commander from formerly West Germany once said to me that as a soldier once has to follow order, but if it is a stupid one we have to react.

It is the same with the officers here. They cannot just say "I follow order from my boss". Just look at how they acted...it is more than following order.

HUN SEN WAS SELLECTED AS A PERSON OF THE YEAR!!!
While Vietnam allowed its people to protest peacefully in front the Chinese embassies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to show their anger over China's takeover the Spreadly and Paracell Islands which Vietnam has claimed as its sovereign Islands for centuries, In Cambodia there is a different story; the Khmer Krom Buddhist Monks's peaceful demonstration to submit a petition in front of the Vietnamese Embassy has turned into tragic violence committed by Hun Sen's police forces. We, Cambodian people, are watching this incidents horribly. Why did Hun Sen react and use so exessive forces to beat up the helpless monks? Did Hun Sen want to serve his Vietnamese masters better than their expectation so that his master can keep him on power for life time? There is no doubt, so far, Hun Sen's job performance check list is excellent in Hanoi Human Resource Office. First, Hun Sen continues to allow Vietnamese illegal immigrants to resettle in Cambodia freely, and they are allowed to hold Cambodian citizen cards to vote for him( Chhey Cheatha II's analogy.)
Second, Hun Sen made a great concession on a border treaty agreement with Hanoi, which resulted in losing a big chunck of Cambodia's land, and more than that Hun Sen tried to shut up all Khmer Patriots'voices who dared to speak up against the unfair border treaty with Vietnam. they were impresioned without fair trials before the US state Department Rep. Mr. Christopher came to interfere for their release, including Mr. Khem Sokha, Mom Sonangdo, Rung Chun, Prince Tomaco, Dr. Saybory, and so on. Third, Hun Sen cooperated with his comrade Monk Tep Vong, to harass, beat up, and brutally crackdown on all Khmer Krom monks' peaceful demonstrations against the Vietnamese Embassy including this recent one. By the end of his third term next year, Mr. Hun Sen expects to get an excellent report card from his boss in Hanoi. We are very regretfully to see our leader whose job supposed to defense our national borders, to safeguard and take care all people's welfare, and to solve our internal problems peacefully, but instead, Hun Sen does whatever he can to please his Hanoi master regardless of what price Cambodian people have to pay. And finally, we expect that Hun Sen will be sellected as a person of the year for his faithful and exceptional job performance for his master. As his reward, Hun Sen will be nominated as a sole priminister candidate for his fourth term.

Hun Sen's polices are all gangsters who don't respect monks and their fellow khmer krom. Actually, they're the Viet agents who dress in khmer and speak khmer. We need to hang Hun Sen and his gangsters along with his family who have done a lot of crimes against khmer people. We need to run this guy over with the car or any means. It's time for people power and revolution.

These men in uniform were merely followed the prime minister's order, or face execution. In fact, these men have no other options.

Yes, I know, this is pathetically cruel for anyone who would lift their hands or feet to hit these innocent monks.

God be with our people!

To solve this complicated issues, Hun Sen must be assassinated by all means. He has been living in constant fear everyday.

Carrying or executing the assissination against the sitting prime minister is clearly a violation of International Law.

We do not want to see anyone, particularly the prime minister to get assissinated over unresolved issues. These issues could be worked out in a diplomatic manners.

God damn it! God or gods are only protecting the strong (not the weak).

We need to think in terms of evolution (not creation) to move forward.
