Pince Thomico calls for a congress of royalists19 December 2007

On Wednesday, Prince Sisowath Thomico called on Prince Ranariddh to organize a congress of royalists in order to resolve the unification of royalists once again.
The request to Prince Ranariddh to act as the peacemaker for the royalist movement was made at a time when Prince Thomico believes that difficulties arose from the past breakup among the royalists while the 2008 election is fast approaching.
Prince Thomico said: “Let him (Ranariddh) issued a declaration, as long as he accepts to return back to unite the royalists. As that time, myself, H.E. Keo Puth Reasmey, and the Funcinpec party, we will work hard to lobby the government to provide the ability for Prince Ranariddh to return back home.”
Nevertheless, Prince Thomico did not indicate whether the royalist congress will take place in Cambodia or overseas, however he called on the fast set up of this congress.
Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, spoke about the prince’s request: “Nobody has the time to reply his letter, because his letter is dated the 15th, but it didn’t arrive to us until the 18th, therefore, he is using a trick, first, (he did) so that we don’t have anything to reply back to him. But, we want to let him know that Prince Ranariddh did everything even before Prince Thomico did, i.e. Prince Ranariddh made his call and issued 2 letters to that effect already. The congress is only a dream, it is not a sure thing. The NRP and Prince Ranariddh have left the (party) door open already to allow those who want to come in an unite, his will maintain this door open all the time.”
Nov Sovathero, Funcinpec spokesman, said: “We all know that Prince Thomico is an active politician, but he is active without a goal. Secondly, I already saw his letter, he addressed it to the NRP, therefore, there is nothing related to Funcinpec at all. Everything must be replied by the NRP to Funcinpec, we always welcome the unification.”
Prince Ranariddh currently resides overseas because the Phnom Penh municipal court handed him an 18-month jail sentence and a fine in the lawsuit case for the sale of the Funcinpec party headquarters.
Prince Thomico expressed his confidence that Prince Ranariddh will be successful in uniting the royalist movement again.

Thomico has a clear goal. He tries to unite and rally opposition against CPP under the leadershit of royalists. He is smart like a chimp that jumps back and forth, back and forth again and again. bacause that's all he knows.

I lost faith in for Royal families since Sihanouk, in 1970's, enticed Khmers to Kill Khmers for his own power. Without Sihanouk Pol Pot could not win the war and without Pol Pot I did not have to live for 3 years and 8 months under his oppressive regime. I my opinion royal families should be barred from politic completely.
