Bosba Panh, whose repertoire includes Bob Dylan as well as traditional Khmer music, recently packed a concert hall in Phnom Penh. Chaktomuk Hall’s capacity is 570 seats, but Bosba Panh brought in 700 people.

Her music is increasingly gaining attention, as she strums a guitar and sings in cafes and halls for Westerners and Cambodians alike.

Bosba Panh, 10, whose father is Khmer and mother is Lao, put out the album “Phnom Penh” in 2006 and established her own music company, La Compagnie Bosbapanh, when she was 8 years old.

“Bosba confirms her talent as a classical singer in exploring the cultural richness of her country and in making famous international songs her own,” said Muoy You, director of Seametrey Children’s Village, a school, who attended the performance at Chaktomuk Hall. “She sang of the beauty of Cambodia, love and peace, liberty and freedom.”

Do parents know how serious or how dangerous it is to have a famous kid?

Don't forget about Touch Sunich. The many different kinds of music are definitely there. If she continues to work with the best, Bosba will be the best!

She is truly a Khmer beauty with great artistic talents. She should be a national pride and asset.

May God keep her safe in her endeavour to promote Khmer music and culture. Let's hope the old foxes or Tatas cannot touch her with their dirty claws and alcohol-tainted fangs.

i encourage everyone to be themselves. some have good talents, so why not use their god given talent, whether to be famous, to be a movie star or singer or what have you. look at people in america and other country, they encourage their people to show their true talents, to do what they're good at, and they don't have the same attitude like some people in cambodia have. if these countries on the planet are so concern about what you are saying, then they would have to stop everything they do and the world would have invented the airplanes, cars, trains, etc., so, i think it's all in the attitude. so, may be that small attitude ought to be changed. frankly, i am so glad the world doesn't think like some people in cambodia. why don't we all go back to be in the stone age or something. i hope you see my point.

that why we have law to protect people's rights, so with you concern about 'dangerous' or somethin like it, then your focus should be to enforce the law, not stopping people from being who they are.
