When the general election is nearing, all the political parties have tried hard to look for strategies to win support. However, for the FUNCINPEC [National United Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful, and Cooperative Cambodia] Party, some of whose members have defected to other parties, Prince Sisowath Thomiko, who has just returned from France on 21 January after staying there for a month, has introduced a new strategy to prevent more FUNCINPEC officials from quitting the party.
According to what Prince Sisowath Chakkrei-nupol, adviser to Prince Thomiko, told Kampuchea Thmei, Prince Thomiko was strongly concerned over the defection of numerous members from FUNCINPEC this month. To prevent this current of desertion, Prince Thomiko said that he had a new strategy to contain this problem.
Prince Chakkrei-nupol did not reveal Prince Thomiko's strategy. He only said that Prince Thomiko planned to meet with the FUNCINPEC Party's Chairman Kev Put Reaksmei and Secretary General Nhoek Bun-chhai to discuss that new strategy soon.
As for the Norodom Ranariddh Party [NRP], it announced on its royalist radio program that 21 more other top FUNCINPEC leaders, including MPs, cabinet ministers, and state secretaries, were poised to defect to the Cambodian People's Party [CPP] and other parties in the near future.
NRP spokesman Mut Chantha said that he was aware of the 21 key FUNCINPEC leaders' readiness to defect through the assertion made by CPP MP Cheam Yiep at a seminar at [Phnom Penh] Sunway Hotel. He added that the ongoing defection of the FUNCINPEC leaders was unstoppable, because it was the will and decision of each individual. He also said that though the planned defection by the 21 FUNCINPEC officials had not yet been confirmed, a number of senior officials had already changed sides to the CPP.
Reacting, FUNCINPEC spokesman Neou Sovathero said the news was a gross exaggeration. He mocked the NRP saying that if it was so sure like that, why did it not disclose the names of the 21 officials? Why did it need to conceal them like an AIDS-infected person? Neou Sovathero pointed out that those who had left FUNCINPEC had already shown their faces, so there was no more defection. He also said that FUNCINPEC still maintained a firm position that while those who remained would continue to work, those who were displeased had the right to be so.
It should be recalled that Samdech Decho Hun Sen, prime minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, has already mentioned that for the fourth-mandate election, the FUNCINPEC Party should try hard to strengthen itself to remain the partner even though it would obtain only one seat. However, if FUNCINPEC would not be able to win even one seat, it would be difficult to help. This is a message reminding FUNCINPEC that it must try harder to secure seats in the National Assembly.

Just like Sihanouk said FUNCINPEC will be FINISHED in 2008.
His father was right on that!

Remember this name: FUNCINPEC [National United Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful, and Cooperative Cambodia]it will be a histroty. Thanks godness that it lasts only till 2008. They are good in the war time but not in the peace time as many crooks in the fold.

All these thing are bygones: Sahakchivin, Luth Krap, Ducking walk, Hay EU(yes yes), OP Pong...
We need a new way of working and serving the Kinggom of Cambodia.
A Moha thipadey Decho Chkuot will desappear without the intervention of the so caklled Royalist party.
Those who won't vote for the CPP and NRP are not republicans.
Funcinpec & NRP both will raise white @ Black flags soon........
But Phalla-Runrot may have some tactics to pledge cpp for some powers/money srey Sra as in the past.... at least as King with Crown or some rank in Royal Palace...e.g Manager of Royal palace.. in charge of ladies affairs...
Excellency Dr. Phd. bandit Achar Knoy
Who is next? Watch out SRP! if you don't want to have the same fate! The giant CPP is poised to wipe you out from Cambodian politics sooner or later. In fact, you don't have a choice, do you?
Joining the next government or not is not important. The importance is you quickly revive your pre-determined democratic principle, unit force and get rid off the crooks. You can lie people but you can not lie yourselve. The SRP support has reached the u-turn spot.
Look! in Prey Veng, your trouble-maker Chea Poch is bagging Kem Veasna, your disposed PM to help with promise to reunite and reinstall.... which is untrue.
In other province, especially your base Kampong Cham, most of your activists, members are changing side too (Prey Chhor, Koh Sotin, Tbaung Khmom...)
Battambang is not better than others, despite mobilizing the youth to collect trash recently the situation is not improved since provincial congress in August last year. How many new members are mobilized so far? is there any record to prove that our claim is not true?
The situations in PNH and Takeo are at the alarm stage. in the later no one wants to be second after your beloved Master as the their shares (contribution to party) are too big and prospect of winning two seats is marginal, while in PNH you need a drastic change if you wish to maintain half of what you've got in last election. The last commune election can prove that.
Yes you are smilling now as you see our boat is sinking, yours is next, I bet!
Bravo Funcinpec!! after the election you will get 0 seat and than all of the members will run away to the CPP, SRP. Nhek Bunchhay will sell the party and begs for the position with his boss, Hun Sen.
All of the members of Funcinpec should go now to join with other parties but not CPP.
Shit
