New Bridge Over Tonle Sap To Be Built by Senator-Tycoon-cum-Hun Sen-Crony and Well-known Land-grabber Ly Yong Phat

A New Bridge Over Tonle Sap To Be Built Under BOT Form

Phnom Penh, January 23, 2008
AKP

A new bridge crossing Tonle Sap Lake and a new road linking from the bridge to the national route no. 6A will be built to ease the transportation into the capital city of Phnom Penh.

Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh and Ly Yong Phat, director of Ly Yong Phat Company, officially signed an investment agreement last Friday at the Cambodian Development Council.

The 1,543-meter long with 14-meter width and 10-meter height bridge and the 8,170-meter long road will be built at a cost of US$42 million under Built-Operated-Transferred (BOT) form for 30 years before handing over to the royal government.

The investment will contribute directly to bettering the living condition of the people, especially to reducing today’s traffic problem at Chroy Chanvar bridge.

I hope this fucken bridge can accommodate two ways traffic!

I hope it is strong enough to support everyday traffic of heavy big trucks (more than 28,000 pounds) each, bulldozers, and other heavy duty construction equipments!

Now just imagine having 20 big trucks weight more than 28,000 pounds on the bridge at the same! By the way most bridges last about 30 years and a new one will have to be rebuilt which means the old one will have to be blown up!

Sorry to who buy these kinds of buble! I pray for you who deal with evil!

If you have land, soldll it and run! Buble will bust soon than you can think of!

It is way too small, if they are building to relieve traffic congestions, why not build big, like four-lane each way, instead of one-lane each way. Well, you know, this is Cambodia in the 21st century, not the dark age. We want big stuff, not small.

that is big in their small mind. there is no sense of futuristic planning; sad but that's how the way they are...

oh by the way, it is about the size of my backyard bridge.

and it's not cost 42 mill. you know it's a lie. 42 mill can do a lot in cambodia.

Where this animal has got all his monies from? I heard that he was born in a remote area of Koh Kong and hasn't got any basic education. Talk very rough like a monky and cannot write Khmer and now is a senate. I think all his monies were from CPP taking out from their national coiffer before election 1993. He must have good relation with Tea Banh and tea Vin in Koh Kong.He has so many problem with land grabbings.

Almost land on the other side 6A belong to Him. $42 millions to build the bridge is nothing compare the his lands 300 hactares (market price now $80/m2).

300 x 10,000m2 x $80 = $240 000 000 (Two Hundred Millions US Dollars)

please don't make judgment on people based on their background, education level and so on. Look at Bill Gates, he didn't even finish high school and he's from a blue-collar working family; and now he's the richest man in the world. How's that for the way you are judging people. So, I don't think the person's background or education level is relevant anymore in this day and age, maybe what you say is true for the past 10 to 20 years, but Bill Gates is just great example to prove that that wasn't always the case. I think what's more important is the person's motivation, perserverance, optimistic vision, enterpreneurism, etc..., and don't forget experience, manipulation (this word isn't always bad),and cleverness helps, too. Not to mention, he's obviously smart, too.

oh, one more thing, now in Cambodia people can get rich overnight in real estate business; so look into the booming real estate business everywhere in Cambodia. one might struck gold there. now be optimistic, I'm telling you; it's not a joke. check it out in phnom penh, kep, battambang, siem reap, sihanoukville, kampot, etc..., even svay rieng gets its share.

agree with the last two comments, mostly. if one is educated in the US history, remember President Lincoln, the 16th US president; anyway, President Lincoln didn't even have a formal education; he was self-taught, and look he became one of the greatest president in the US history. he engaged in many reforms like abolishment of slaves his most famous achievement. So, we can't just judge people by their background, or level of education. That person may not have the same opportunity like you, if you're so luck; but people can be self-educated as well. So, we can not 'judge a book by its cover.' I'm happy for every khmer person who are rich, especially when they help Cambodia to be better.
