It does not matter what religion you are. This holiday is full of hope good health.
The Cambodians suffer a lot in the past 50ish years. It is time to heal and enjoy life. The current condition is not perfect but we must make good out of it. The internationals in all corners will see our plights and help the best they can. We are Cambodians and we must help ourselves to achieve quality of life.
Happy holiday.

Cambodia 2003 - A New Era
Posted by unitedkhmer on 2002-12-27 12:51:57

December 2002

Dear beloved khmers and friends of khmer land.

Good evening to one and all.

We have all heard much of Cambodia in recent times. Whether it is from media, news, internet postings, web sites, sms, and so on. Can we not hear something good coming out from Cambodia ? When have we ever hear of good news in recent times ? Never, no, not one good thing.

Yet again, on a daily basis, we hear of the mass pains and sufferings of our fellow men and families in Cambodia. Why, why, we asked ? Peep and have a look at our immediate neighbours. We will be rightly ashamed.

Ponder and think for a moment, think !!! What conclusion do you draw ? It has solely to do with government, governance ? Top of the list is the wrong man, and then his ever incapable team. Resulting with a suppressed, oppressed and repressed people. How else do you think that a country can move forward ?. No decent leader and government move his country backwards, except in Cambodia. Shame, shame, shame !!!.

Tons after tons of daily news of injustice. From illegal seizure of land to environmental risk deforestation, from deficient judiciary to unaccountable finances, from untrained skill workforce to poor literacy, from poor primary health care to massive poverty/hunger, from an isolationist policy to shutting down public opinion, from fear to intimidation, from bad management to aimless policies and much more. These are not hearsay, but factual. There are many internet sites that speaks. You can see and witness them all for yourself.

Time and again, we hear on international news about Mr Hun Sen. Nothing positive, nothing good to report about. And recently, he has plans to shut down Britain based Global Witness. Any democratic matured governmental move is to investigate such an allegation with the country's lawful instruments. Shutting them down provides no answers and instead increases doubts. Is there a government ? You decide !!!

Quote : CAMBODIA TO SHUT DOWN GROUP'S OFFICE

PRIME Minister Hun Sen said yesterday that he would shut down the office of an international environmental watchdog group for 'inflicting damage' to Cambodia's reputation and national sovereignty.

The move came in response to 'unacceptable' allegations by the group, Britain-based Global Witness, that Cambodian police used brutal methods to break up a protest over government forestry management plans earlier this month, he said. --AP : Unquote

Quote : 70% of Cambodia was forested in the 1970s. Today that figure is around 30%, and decreasing. Both sides in the Cambodian civil war, the Government and the Khmer Rouge, used timber to fund their war efforts. Global Witness estimated that the value of the Thai-Cambodian cross-border timber trade to the Khmer Rouge was approximately $10-$20 million per month in 1995. This information was used to successfully campaign for the Thai border to be closed to logs.

Cambodia's civil war ended in 1998, but deforestation is still a major problem, with large-scale illegal logging being carried out by concessionaires. Global Witness is currently working as the official independent monitor of the forests in Cambodia, working to report cases of illegal logging to the Government.

Another piece of disastrous and dirty news. Ceding and manipulating away territorial sovereignity ! No leader nor government will sign away her integrity, whether its territorial or otherwise for whatever reason. This amounts to treason. Read for yourself. Is there a government ? You decide !!!

Below is a self explanatory message from the President of the CFC/CBC, Cambodia Border Committee.

Dear friends

Mr. Hun SEN will sign with Vietnam at Mars 2003 the treaty on the territorial bordering, basing only on the treaties and the agreements signed between Vietnam and Cambodia of 1979 to 1991. This treaty is against the agreements of Paris of 1991 and with the Constitution of 1993. So curious that such thing could happen and this without any reaction of the institutions in Phnom Penh.

CFC/CBC will organise a fort protestation against this absurd realisation, so we request all our compatriots to make pressure on the government to end up this preliminary to the agreements accused before starting any negotiations with the neighbours, Vietnamese. It is the only sine qua none condition to preserve our territorial integrity. Act now or it would be too late. You all are informed. The President of the CFC/CBC Sean Péngsè.

=========================================================================================================================

But dear brothers, sisters and friends of beloved Cambodia

Good great news is here. Do not despair nor be dismayed. Very soon, there will come a leader. One without any dirty political baggage, a pure Cambodian with a pure vision, one who has all these years make preparation and is financially equipped. One who will lead, is learned, sacrificially and willingly chose to come forward to right the wrong, to make good the bad, to turn fields into food, to seek justice for the injustice, to bring peace to the troubled, to provide shelter to the homeless, to bring jobs to the unemployed, to protect the environment from the destroyers, to nurture the land, to build that which has never been built, and that is beloved Cambodia. One that will move Cambodia into a new era. A new Cambodia will be born. Gone will be those days of emotional toil and sweat. United Cambodia will participate in the building process. Each will have a stake in the country. Together, we will move forward leaving our past behind.

Please, look out, support and give this one person your unwavering hands high to lift up our common vision. To rid Cambodia of the pain and suffering once and for all. Failing which, both you and I will be plunged into a depth of darkness, sinking unrecoverably through the generations. You have a chance and a choice. You decide !!!

To the people, for the people of Cambodia, the time has come. UnitedKhmer, the best is yet to come !!!

Hun Sen is the father of democracy and who will get the country moved forward.

For more than a quarter of century, he has shown great examples through his leadership.

Please vote for Hun Sen for your next prime minister.

3:57AM. How childish can one gets to attempt to make another person augue over your pretitious act? You ought to be more productive in writing your respond in this forum. Please sticks with the facts. HunSen has leadership? The reasons he ruled for 3 decades long--IS NOT leadership skill he possessed!

He is POSSESSED by the Devil/Satan himself. "Before you beat the Dog, Learn his master's name".

Heads-up for a culture of impunity: The bulldozer (Hun Sen) and his followers.

Senator Barack Obama is on the hunt for the bulldozer for the comment he made on the Youtube video footage.

Yes, the dictatorial regime is walking a strategic tightope.

Khmer forever! Yuon out of Cambodia!
