Sandals bearing Angkor Wat on its soles sold in Vietnam: Adding insult to injury?

The above photos show sandals bearing the Angkor Wat picture on their soles. These sandals are sold in Vietnam where Cambodian visitors bought it from. Above the picture of Angkor Wat you can see the wrong spelling of the word Cambodia, in fact, the typo came from typing "campuchia" (Cambodia spelling in Vietnamese) then converting it using Khmer script without consideration of difference in the spelling. Does the communist Hanoi regime allows the sale of these shoes on purpose to insult Cambodian pride?

AGAIN, KHMER ARE WEAK!

WHAT CAN YOU, KHMER, CONCEIVABLY DO? NOTHING!

It does not matter if these flags are dilapided; we only care making money selling lands to our neighboring nations, as far as we're concerned. Perhaps , if need be, we'll kill each other for lands for money and power.

We should put the picture of Ho Chi Minh picture in the same way. Someone with hands on, please do it now.

They claimed that they want to keep the friendhip, but instead they just want to keep friendship that will benefits their economy and continue to violate the Cambodian sovereignty. This is a true insults that the government look at and address this immediately to show them that we don't take this kind of BS...

Obviously, khmer have no spy in vietnam to do any type of balancing checks or audit in the country...

It is a real offense on Khmer people when we have seen our national symbol is printed on the Vietnamese shoes. The Cambodian government should take a drastical measure to deal with this issue. What will happen if we print Ho Chi Minh picture in the same shoes?

It is too bad that AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave didn't protest the Vietcong arrogance behavior or will he?

The Vietcong used to put Cambodian Koh Tral Island on their fish sauce bottle Ngoc Nam and now they print Angkor Wat picture on the shoe!

Cambodian people and Cambodian culture are retreating from all direction in the face of the Vietcong onslaught and thank in part to AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave‘s open door policy toward the Vietcong!

Shame on KI-Media for printing its incendiary statement below the picture. It should be shrugged off as an exercise in tastelessness. The people who made these sandals probably didn't know what they were doing, perhaps they even thought this was something nice.

You can read people mind? ahhahah!

The next shoe brand made in Hanoi will be Ah Sen Khvak's head printed on the sole for Youn to wear. Ah Sen does not care. He is blind. He loves it since he gets some profits by holding on to the power.

This is their way of showing cambodia that they can walk on Cambodian.

Ho chi min must be laughing in his grave.

I agree. There must be protest from Cambodian diplomat against such action. They already made similar actions with Angkor card games, why not Angkor sandals which is even more insulting? I don't think this is a matter of tasteless art, this is a matter of cultural igorance and insensitivity..

We really should make a sandal with Uncle Ho smiling and his teeth popped out with his Mossoleum in the background.

I think this is the act of insulting Cambodia....or the producer refers and intentionally favored that Cambodia is Vietnam through this mis-converting philosophy.

What are their intention?

Acting evil like this it only give worst image on the international arena. I hope The Vietnamese or Thai understand it. People are more and more aware of Cambodia now, doing bad things on Cambodia, VC & Thai cannot get away from it.

Dear 10:05 p.m. I'm not Vanak. I thank him for shring this to every one of us. The news doesn't publish it but he has it. That is something. You're right to not believe that. That is very good to not believe something you don't know easily, unless it is there, right.

But I don't think it is a make up story for every one of us to read. It must be truly has happened somewhere. Look around us even inside our beloved country. The leader doens't seem to care about this matter even our neigboring countries did this. You can't get the news because this is very insulting to Cambodia and the sandals were sold in Viet. Do you think our leader will do something that is against his boss? His boss will cut his head off if he dare do that.Me, I don't see them in my own eyes either, but this picture is enough to be true as an evidence. Does it explain something to you abit? For me, I have the same feeling as you. I believe it unless I see it or it provides some evidence to me.

Anonymous 11:25p.m., you shouldn't been so naive, or brainless. Do you think the sandals producers have no brain like you? It is not nice to take the symbol of one country that is always been respected by the whole country or even the whole world as one of the seven wonders of the ancience. Our ancesters worked so hard, and even gave up their lives to build this marvellous priceless monument. It took years to build and cost hundred or thousands of our ancesters' lives to finish this marvellous construction that have only in Cambodia. Open your eyes and see how you are being treated? Shame on the sandals producers!!!! Shame on Vietname Government!!!! It is not too late to know what is happening around us. I believe that our fellows who can read or write English, they must be someone extra-ordinary.

Thank you. I love you all.

I have never been interested in politics whatsoever in my life because I majored in the field that is not related to killing but healling people. I think you know what I really meant for my peofession. I am very happy and delighted to see no suppression on the poor or anyone who has lower power, and to see country development. I'm very sad when I see the poor were dragged out of their homes or their homes were torched. I know that some poor just stay wherever they can, but our country has laws for property. Go to drag someone out of their home is something very inhumane. Do they ever think to themselves what they will feel when someone does this to them or their family? I hope Khmers will live and learn from today on what should behave to their own people. Do not use power to do thing without considering human rights and the laws. They should think that the poor also are humans what the powerful persons need, so do the poor. Laws have been created for the order of the country and needed people to implement them. In Cambodia nowadays, only the poor respect the laws because they are afraid. Only laws that can protect them from any harm in nature of laws. On the contrary, not that at all, the laws have been ignored by the powerful persons or the ones who create the laws. Sorry for being veered off the topic abit.

I hope that our people will not be like this forever. They will find ways out of this very soon through thier voice which will be in national election. Get up fellows and support who are the real leaders who support the country and the citzenary, who will lead our nation to prosperity, no corruption, no suppression, no dictatorship, no nepotism.

It is just my opion.

Thanks!

To all of you Viet, and Thai people out there who say Khmer are only weak, stupid, incapable, what so ever,
If we are so weak and stupid, doesn't that just make you even lower than us when you want Angkor Wat, our land and cheat to make what is ours yours?
If you think we Khmer are low, you are the lowest to beyond dirt level.

"ចាមផុចហា " This was the words that Ah Youn called us "Champuchia " Whoever wrote these words were that STUPID and UNEDUCATED. Before you print out something, you must check your spelling first. This was clearly insulting to us, CAMBODIAN. I did not surprised at all. I blamed on our leaders whom only thought about themselves and wanted to grab all the powers, did not care much about the people, very iregant, gave themselve doctorate degrees without steping the feet in the schools. They got the doctorate degrees and could not speak a word in English. I knew that a lot of people studied very hard to get bachelor degrees (BS or BA Degrees). If you go through regular requirement through universities, it takes four or five years to complete. You must be a full-time student and be able to read, write and speak those languages. That was why that I said that They were just STUPID liked them, these Vietnames.

Hun Sen, Chea Sim and Heng Samrin, who were they? In my intuation, I believed that they were vietnames, because when they won the war against Khmer Rouge. Everyone lost his identity, personal record and much more. That was the time or opportunity for his or hor to create the identification. That was why I believed that they were Vietnames.
