CPP MP Cheam Yiep claimed that the 10-year-long and still-counting anti-corruption law could be sent to the National Assembly before the 2008 general election. Cheam Yiep told RFA that this law is very important, even the public is waiting for his law, and in particular, the MPs are also waiting to see this law put to debate and being adopted. Cheam Yiep said that Heng Samrin, National Assembly president, already declared that he will do all he can to wrap up this law near by New Year (April). He added that if the government can send this law quicker, it could be adopted quicker also. However, SRP MP Yim Sovann said that this law will not see the daylight as quickly as Cheam Yiep claimed. Yim Sovann told RFA that, up to now, this law is still stuck at the Council of Ministers, therefore, he does not have much hope that this law will be adopted prior to the election, because the ruling CPP party prevents it from happening out of concerns that, when this law will be adopted, it will only affects those who belong to the ruling CPP party.

National election campaign should tie the election with anti corruption law and the establishment of immigration department especially from Vietnam. The Cambodian people should not vote for the party that harbor Vietnamese immigration and continue the culture of corruption.

It Hard for CPP to draft this anti-corruption laws-

If such law exist it will put the corrupted CPP officials in the spotlight. If the CPP MP can't come up or capable of drafting the "ANti-corruption" laws. Then SRP should draft it for them. Of course no CPP MPs will right laws that would put them in goal...right!

Every Cambodian already know that The CPP MPs + Mr. Blind PM Hun Sen family as the King & Queen of Corruptions of Cambodia, responsible for plundering Cambodia's resources, sea, land, land grabbing, I'm surprise the poor people of cambodia dont take action and grab Mr. Blind PM Hun Sen properties back...that would the best "Anti-corruption" actions ever in cambodia history.

Doner countries should before Donating money $$$ to the BILLIONAIRE. Mr. Blind PM Hun Sen. For him to draft&/approve this laws in parlarment first.
