Mrs. Mu Sochua indicated that two high-ranking Funcinpec officials contacted her to try to attract her to rejoin Funcinpec back.
Mrs. Mu Sochua, deputy Secretary-general of the opposition SRP party, said that two Funcinpec government ministers met her at the Sunway Hotel on 18 February 2008 to ask her to defect from the SRP and rejoin the Funcinpec back. She added: “They said that they took the action based on an order from Nhiek Bun Chhay, and they promised me that I will be the number 1 candidate (for the 2008 general election) in any region of my choice should I choose to join Funcinpec.” She added that she rejected the offer: “I am not a politician who goes around accepting empty position.”
One high-ranking Funcinpec official said that, indeed, there was a contact made with Mrs. Mu Sochua to attract her back to Funcinpec. This official said that: “We contacted her, we want her to come back because we want to regroup the Funcinpec force back, furthermore, we know that she is still angry with Eng Chhay Eang, the SRP Secretary-general.”
In 2007, Mrs. Mu Sochua and Eng Chhay Eang were both candidates for the position of party secretary-general, and this election was marred by internal dissensions.
Nevertheless, in spite of the fact that the SRP is currently facing with internal problems caused by the defection of a number of high ranking party officials, Mrs. Mu Sochua remains a firm believer of the opposition party. She said: “If one or two tiles in the roof are broken, we can still fix the roof back.” She added that if the problems occur at the grass root levels, then the party would be concerned.
Recently, Ly Rosamy, a SRP party member, also defected the party to join the CPP. On the other hand, Ok Socheat, a high-ranking Funcinpec official, indicated that 15 SRP officials from Kampong Cham province defected to join Funcinpec.
Mrs. Mu Sochua also indicated that opposition leader Sam Rainsy will arrive in Cambodia on 26 February (following a tour of Australia).

Hi Mua Sochua, u should stay with SRP to make strong the party. Don't be enjoy with poweful...
Si vous restez toujours avec le PSR, tout le monde vous aime, en plus ça montre que vous êtes vrais démocrate,,,
The CPP is once again starting to use NRP and FUNCINPEC members as their tools to poke SRP
Personal disagreement should not take precedence over the Party's goal, and Mu Sochua did the right thing.
Anyway, Funcinpec is surviving on borrowed time and breathing like a cricket on its death bed. There is no real power for Funcinpec, especially when the Funcinpec ministers take orders from the CPP junior ranking officials.
Thank you , Mrs. Mu Sochua, for your decision not to go back to Funcinpec, which is nothing important for Cambodia Poeple nowadays.
We have seen your activities with Sam Rainsy. You are very good and reliable. Please don't go anywhere and be with Sam Rainsy to help the country for the poeple's sake.
Thank you, Mrs. Mu Sochua, and wish you every success.
Rgds,
Congratulation Mrs.Mu Sochua!
Your works are folding in the conscience of national interests.
CPP is good in gaining self-interest and self-power. They are using national positions to proselytize opposition party members. This is the act of ignorant leader and dictatorship.
Your decision to join SRP and firmly staying with SRP is giving us super energy to strive restlessly; and our goal is nearly arrived.

We should not worry about Mrs Mu Sochua defects to Funcipec or CPP because she is a mature politician and she has brian not rock in her head. Why should she jumps onto sinking boats or decay boats.
No doubt that CPP and bloody Funcipec are in desperated situation.

She said: “If one or two tiles in the roof are broken, we can still fix the roof back.”
Her words confirmed the drift and conflict within the SRP steering committee.
Hope that SRP can solve their internal conflict sooner and get back on with party business as usual. otherwise the party might lose another good person.
When she said that she is ‘not a politician who goes around accepting empty position.’ I think she is looking for an offer from CPP for a secured position. I doubt it that she’ll be successful with SRP.
I am almost certain by the look of her face. Although, I should “not judge a book by its cover”, I think she would want a position where she can expect to retire from. If problem continue to persist with SRP, sooner or later, she will consider defecting to CPP. Only CPP can offer a secure position while all other opposition parties can only promise her so called an “empty position”.
Don’t jump your gun on my speculation. Just wait and see how political train twitches it courses in Cambodia and you will soon to see she jumps CPP’s train.
cambodia needs more woman politicians like her. god bless all.
According to this particular article, comments by Mrs. Ma Sochua, Quote"There is definitely a rift and crack within SRP".
Hope the founder and leader of the party act swiftly and do his best to prevent further crack and the possibility of losing important and potential member[s] to other party.
Nhiek Bun Chhay is a boodsucker. He is sucking Hun Sen's dick for his own personal gain. This is why Ah Youn Hanoi Vear is very happy to see majority of Cambodian leaders are looking for personal interests, rather than nationalistics. Down Nhiek Bun Chhay, you will no seat for 2008 as if Earng Molli was in the past, a Hun Sen's dog.
