In relations to the loss of Cambodia’s lands there were accusations which were levelled against the government of Prime Minister Hun Sen of selling lands to foreigners or to foreign companies under the guise of land concessions for economic developments and for investments in the developments of rubber and teak plantations.
The Prime minister dismissed those accusations as “stupid lies”.
But leader of the opposition party has said in the past that many foreigners have taken up Khmer citizenship and therefore they can still buy lands in Cambodia.
In relation to the sale of lands to foreigners, Prime Minister Hun Sen has said on Wednesday, in a ceremony to inaugurate the foundation of a Buddhist temple at Wat Tuol Preah Reachea, Po Ban Sub-District, Koh Thom District, Kandal Province, that the accusations is a sad saga.
Prime Minister Hun Sen said: “I think that the topic of land sales to foreigners is a sad topic and it is a topic which is insulting to our own race. What can we do because our ancestors have only left that much lands to us? What we need to protect is what was inscribed in the constitution. That is enough! Some people want to reclaim Kampuchea Krom. Please go! At one occasion I have told them that: if you want to take back Kampuchea Krom, you can go. I don’t have the capacity to take it back but I will provide the coffins for your burial.”

Why is opposition calling Khmer Citizens Foreigners? I say they must be on crack. No one on this planet will do that.

By the way you talk I think you were probably born after 1979 or just a few years before. If so you wouldn't have experienced and known the fact.What you have heard and known are probably have been fed to your ears by the Vietnam-lovers from the CPP. The war between the KR and Vietnam, which was escalated from 1977, happened as a result of border encroachments. Vietnam had encroached and moved the bordrlines deep inside Cambodia and the KR tried to stop them. But Vietnam, with its military supremacy, have pushed in further and the conflicts had escalated to the point of irreversibility. I am not an apologist of the KR but this the fact. Do you think that a small boy dare to go and start a fight with a man four times his size? That's what the case with Cambodia and Vietnam. Vietnam was four time bigger than Cambodia and its population is around 70 times more than us (14 million Versus 80 million). Vietnam and its Cambodian proxy, the CPP, had always claimed that the KR invaded Vietnam first. This is pure fabrication. The war started when the KR tried to defend Khmer territories encroached by Vietnam. Diplomatic and peaceful solutions were sought, as mant documents pointed out, but they did not achieve anything as Vietnam would not agree to withdraw from the areas that they have encroached. There were documetns left behind by the KR which detailed many meetings at the local level between the Viet and KR border committees but at the end the Viet still insisted that those encroached lands were Vietnam's lands. I am very aware that if you are not strong enough just run away. Don't try to fight with a big guy. But the fact was that if the KR run away and did not try to protect Cambodia's land, it would mean that they were traitors. Now Hun Sen opted for the easy way- turned a blind to border violations by Vietnam and Thailand- because he was scared of them and because he wanted Vietnam to protect his power. I don't suggest that Mr. Hun Sen start a war with Vietnam or Thailand but he must make a strong protest and start the investigation about border violations. If he turns a blind eye and always offer to provide "free coffins" to someone who talk about protecting Cambodia's borders, he will always be accused of being a foreign collaborator and possibly a traitor to the Cambodian nation. We don't want him to fight Vietnam and Thailand but just do something or say something in protest. Don't deny everything before he starts an investigation and don't always offer "free coffins" to someone who are trying to protect Cambodia's border. This is what we want.

I am not trying to defend the KR here. The KR did push deep inside VN at one point. That was a loophole in the defense line of VN, not because the KR was able to push VN troops back. The KR did massacre many VN civilians. I do not support that actions. The KR did the same to Thai civilians in one Thai village as well. I condemned those KR actions.
Back to the war. What matter here was who started the war first? VN did with their border encroachments.The KR had China behind them but VN had the Soviet Union behind him. That's why it was not afraid of China when it invaded Cambodia.

Many of the major battles were fought by the Vietcong troops, not the KR troops. Without the Vietcong troops the KR was nothing. Remember that the Vietcong troops were everywhere inside Cambodian soil and they were fighting the Lon Nol troops, the South Vietnamese troops as well as the American troops. The Vietcong were the ones who defeated the Lon Nol regime. The KR, without the VC's assistance, cannot defeat the Lon Nol troops.
Going back to the border issue. why are you so defensive of Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia? Are you not Khmer or are you benefiting so much out of the Hun Sen govt. which was installed by the VN's invading forces?

The strategy that Vietnam has used to encroach on Khmerland is the exact same method Vietnam used against the Champa Kingdom, and Lao.
First method: Push-and-Withdraw and Push-and-Withdraw until one wears out. Second method: Use Vietnamese women to infiltrate the leadership of the enemies such as marrying the leaders(ie Champa's Kings, King Chey Chetha, today wives/husbands of Lao politicians, today wives/husband of Cambodia politicians, etc). Third method: encourage/coerce their Vietnamese citizens to move in target countries such Champa, Kampuchea-Krom, Lao, and Cambodia. Fourth method: use Vietnamese business to set up shops in targeted countries in hope to take over lands from within.

This is the truth. I have many times listened to RFA in Vietnamese they interviewed Viets in Lao and Viets in Cambodia. They said Viets in Lao have numbered around 50% of Lao's current population. Most Viets in Lao came from Central/North Vietnam. Viets in Cambodia mostly came from South Vietnam, but with smaller number than Viets in Lao. Viets were interviewed asked why they came to live in these respective countries, they told the RFA Viet interviewer that Hanoi government has encouraged them to migrate...very scary isn't it to be the last country on the list of Vietamization Policy!!!
